O'Neill kept a worse squad up than he will have here. I can understand the pessimism and choice but not the assumption that we will be worse than Bournemouth.
I'm going with Guedes as I've seen him trap a ball properly, a skill that seems sadly beyond Hwang. Around £15M must be the cut-off nowadays for that skill to be in your armoury.
If he does nothing else he occupies space and with his speed Man City won't take any chance and will have him covered by 2 defenders. They won't worry about leaving Podence 1 on 1 just inside their half.
He invariably turns back because there is no one up with him ! Jimenez has hardly bust a gut to get in the box this season, Podence has zero presence in there and Hwang/Trincao don't really want to get involved in there either. Neto should make a difference on that score, when back in the side...
I don't think Vitinha would want another season doing that here. He's benefitting with more game time. Maybe Lage has more faith in Cundle than some of our fans ?
Do people really think signing a midfield player who isn't good enough to get in the team but will be happy to sit on the bench is a good idea for our squad development ?
Does Ramsdale ever catch anything ? Has he got any thumbs ?
He's good at chucking himself about in the right places but he spills, pushes and punches a lot of footballs.
Sky Sports News just as bad this morning, discussing how Man Utd ought to go and sign Neves as though it's as easy as popping into Greggs for a sausage roll. I hate the way they assume everyone will let the 'big' clubs tickle their bellies.
