Thread: Your take on the other premiership sides

Default Your take on the other premiership sides

I was just trawling the West Ham 6-0-6 boards and I found an interesting thread where a Hammer asked posters to rate their feelings about the other 19 teams as either positive neutral or negative. I thought it was worthy of a try here to see what we Wolves fans think.

    My views:

Arsenal: Neutral, possibly heading toward negative over Henrygate
    Aston Villa: Neutral
    Birmingham City: Negative
    Blackburn: Positive
    Blackpool: Neutral
    Bolton: Negative
    Chelsea: Positive
    Everton: Positive
    Fulham: Positive
    Liverpool: Negative
    Man City: Neutral
    Man United: Neutral
    Newcastle: Negative
    Stoke: Negative
    Sunderland: Positive
    Tottenham: Neutral
    West Brom: Negative
West Ham: Negative (without the pornodwarves it would be positive)
    Wigan: Neutral

    What are everyone's thoughts?

Arsenal: Positive, due to enjoying watching their style of play.
Aston Villa: Positive, there seems to be respect between the two clubs, the fans, etc.
Birmingham City: Negativie, waste of a place in the PL tinpot outfit
Blackburn: Neutral, nothing positive about them, but nothing negative.
Blackpool: Negative, I can see the new Burnley media love in.
Bolton: Negative, due to them boring the hell out of us for years.
Chelsea: Negative, to many prima donars
Everton: Positive, supported them as a nipper
    Fulham: Negative, Al Fayed
Liverpool: Negative, hard done to Liverpool
Man City: Positive, glad that there was someone to battle with the big 4 to stop the champions league place being predictable
Man United: Negative, too many glory hunter supporters.
    Newcastle: Negative, Deluded
Stoke: Neutral, because I typed negative and then removed it for positive, so it must be inbetween.
    Sunderland: Positive, good fan base
Tottenham: Positive, glad that there was someone to battle with the big 4 to stop the champions league place being predictable
West Brom: Negative, hate the derby games, due to the knuckledraggers
West Ham: Negative (without the pornodwarves it would be positive)
Wigan: Negative, fuck off back to the Ryman league, shit fans, shit chairman, shit club.

Interesting. What were the 'Ammers views on us, out of interest?

    Mine:

Arsenal: Negative - would be neutral but I'm sick of Wenger's constant hypocrisy and self pity.
Aston Villa: Neutral - their fans annoy me when they crawl out of the woodwork once a year following a good run, but I've no ill will towards the club really.
Birmingham City: Negative - cannot STAND them. Worse than the Albion IMHO.
Blackburn: Positive - great club, a good mate is a fan, awesome pies. I wish them luck (except against us).
Blackpool: Positive - good luck to them. They're going to need it.
Bolton: Negative - I wouldn't wish liquidation on any club. With the exception of Notlob. I hate them more than any other side.
Chelsea: Negative - along with 90% of the country. Drogbarrr, Cashley and Terry don't help their cause.
Everton: Positive - I have nothing but admiration and respect for Moyes.
Fulham: Positive - pleased Hughes is going to be there. Good, traditional club.
Liverpool: Negative - Rene Benitez and twat Reina ruined any respect I used to have for them. Fuck 'em.
Man City: Negative - trying to buy the league. Give them 5 years and numerous managerial changes and I fear they will have.
Man United: Negative - boring. I love Rooney though.
Newcastle: Negative - media darlings who are nowhere near the club they used to be. I look forward to the weekly Toon love in like I look forward to the shitty Kasabian filler EVERY ad break on SSN. <Bangs head on desk>
Stoke: Negative - wankerish fans, and quite easily the most anti-footballing side I have ever had the misfortune of watching. I'd love them to go down and take their tactics with them. Yawn.
Sunderland: Positive - decent club, good support, always a good rapport with their fans.
Tottenham: Positive - plenty of English talent there - hoping they do well in the Champs league. I'm one of the few who doesn't mind 'Arry all that much.
West Brom: Negative - like it could be anything else? I'm dreading the BCDs.
West Ham: Negative - another media darling, managed by Baron Greenback and owned by Porn Barons. Horrid. Shame - I used to quite like them.
Wigan: Neutral - there's not enough to hate about Wigan. They're a small club in a small, shitty town and always will be. I quite like Martinez though. I get the feeling that when Wigan drop, they won't be back any time soon, especially if Whelan gets bored. Their attendances are an embarrassment.

Arsenal: Negative. After last season where we defended for our lives with ten men after Henry was unfairly sent off and all the players + Wenger jumped around like spoilt kids.
    Aston Villa: Neutral
Birmingham City: Negative. I don't like Birmingham at all. Infact, I actually dislike Birmingham and Coventry MORE then Albion. But only just.
    Blackburn: Neutral
Blackpool: Positive. I'd love them to stay up - but obviously not at our expense!
Bolton: Negative. John McGinlay - enough said.
    Chelsea: Neutral.
    Everton: Positive
    Fulham: Positive
Liverpool: Negative. Although it's harder to hate them this year because Woy is in charge, I just can't stand the media circus that follows them.
    Man City: Neutral
    Man United: Neutral
Newcastle: Negative. Some of the most deluded fans in the country.
Stoke: Negative. More netball then football.
Sunderland: Positive. I've had a good crack with some of their fans before.
    Tottenham: Neutral
    West Brom: Negative
    West Ham: Negative
    Wigan: Neutral

Arsenal: Positive, they're a wonderful side to watch and have played the game the right way now for nearly 15 years. If I got wound up by a club because of a single incident in a game in the past I'd hate everyone.
Aston Villa: Neutral, there's a hint of arrogance about their fans which I don't think they really have the right to have, but I like O'Neill and the fact that they mainly base the team around young British players.
Birmingham: Negative, tinpot club, belong in the third tier.
Blackburn: Neutral, I like a club with history and their fans seem fine, but I can't stand Allardyce.
Blackpool: Neutral, it speaks volumes that I nearly forgot about them. Not keen on wacky funmeister Holloway or the way they seem to be cynically keeping all the PL money and signing no-one. Way of the world I suppose.
Bolton: Negative, McGinlay, Kevin Lynch, don't even play in Bolton, Lofty the Lion, the Allardyce/Brown dream team, Megson, shit football for years, Mark Wankerface Davies and now Judas Coyle. Get to fuck.
Chelsea: Negative, horrible fans (a mix of Euro 96 era gloryhunters, scrap metal dealing thugs from South London, and Loadsamoney clones), financially doped, and a mix of horrible players. I do like Lampard which is their one saving grace.
Everton: Positive, a proper club with on the whole decent fans, and although Goodison is a shithole, it's at least a traditional shithole. Excellent manager and they looked after Lescott.
Fulham: Positive, though this may dip to neutral if Hughes turns them into another version of his Blackburn team. I liked them mainly for Woy, in all honesty, and Danny Murphy I suppose.
Liverpool: Negative, deluded fans, constant whining, I could be all day on about them. More difficult to hate them now Woy is there, the same as I couldn't quite hate Leeds as much when Gary Mac was in charge.
Man City: Neutral, this would have been positive before the Arabs and that twat Garry Cook came in. Back in my Manchester days I used to watch a lot of midweek games at Maine Road when I couldn't get back for a Wolves game, it was great.
Man Utd: Positive, it's a big myth that United fans don't come from Manchester, and a lot of them are sound. They've played some great football over the last 20 years and you have to respect Fergie's achievements. I also like the way that *some* of their fans have stood up to the Glazers (though not the ones who buy a green and gold scarf over their new replica top).
Newcastle: Positive, the mouthbreathers you see on SSN really are the minority, our lot are no better. Great fans on the whole and they were great to watch in Keegan's first spell and under Sir Bob. I hope they get back towards the top six eventually, though obviously not at our expense.
Stoke: Negative, knuckledragging fans and appalling football. The Britannia Stadium is shit as well. One saving grace, they gave us £3m for the bender. Thanks. Do you want Halford to back up Delap?
Sunderland: Positive, good fans, Niall Quinn is a gentleman and they're just a solid PL club. No problems with them at all.
Tottenham: Negative, constantly ruin young players (of all nationalities) by signing them and bunging them in the reserves. Their fans constantly whine (listen to 606, every second caller is Spurs), beloved by the media, they're the only club that like Hoddle, Harry is bent and I hate his tapping up of players, and they treated a gentlemen in Martin Jol appallingly.
West Brom: Negative, much like Liverpool, I could go on all day. Piss off back to the third tier, stop bothering the PL every other year with laughable attempts to stop up.
West Ham: Negative, because of the Pornodwarves.
Wigan: Negative, really because of that gobshite Whelan. Their success is artificial, the attendances aren't really their fault but it just shows that they're not really a bona fide top flight club.

I don't get wound up by plastic fans, if they want to waste their time pretending to have the same insight and feelings as genuine fans with a connection to their club, that's their problem. Easier to laugh at them than get riled by them.

Arsenal: Positive - I still like the way they play football, and I'm willing to accept the whinging and whining because of that. Plus, they manage to challenge for the top without spending the megabucks of the others, which has to be respected.

Aston Villa: Positive - influenced by the memories of the European Cup years, which I really enjoyed, and the sense of history about the club. The fact that the Blouses hate them just adds to the positive feeling.

Birmingham City: Negative - in almost every way. A repellent club followed largely by repellent fans

Blackburn: Neutral - I quite like the history, liked the fact that they stuck two fingers up at the establishment by winning the Premier League, but I don't like the purely money-based way they did it, or the way they play football these days.

Blackpool: Positive - Oh I do like to be beside the seaside

Bolton: Negative - not much to say!

Chelsea: Negative - Abramovich changed everything in football for the worse - and what I know about the origins of his billions and the connections he still has in Russia makes me even more negative about him and them.

Everton: Positive - some slight family connections, and a great nickname!

Fulham: Positive - nice club, good history, and a great sunny day out last season. Shame about the owner...

Liverpool: Negative - bunch of whingers who can't deal with reality, and far too much of a media love-in

Man City: Negative - which is a shame. They were a club I really liked until the Sheikh took over. Now they represent almost everything that's wrong with not just football but the world.

Man United: Negative - though less than for Citeh or Liverpool. They do at least earn their media attention with serious levels of success, and Sir Alex Ferguson, like him or loathe him, is a manager beyond almost all others.

Newcastle: Negative - more delusions than anyone else. I hope they go down!

Stoke: Neutral - I don't mind the club, though the football they play is hideous. Decent fans, decent history, and fighting above their weight

Sunderland: Positive - much my favourite of the North East clubs.

Tottenham: Positive - yes, they talk too much about their glory years, but they do at least have a sense of humour about it and expect to fail most of the time

West Brom: Negative - no comment!

West Ham: Negative (and as for so many others, without the pornodwarves it would be positive)

Wigan: Neutral - it's hard to have any reaction to Wigan. Who?

Arsenal: Neutral. They play the right way, but they're from London, and I struggle to see past it.

Aston Villa: Neutral. I can't get excited one way or the other about Warwickshire's biggest club.

Birmingham City: So far out of the scale that "negative" doesn't cover it. Awful two-bit club with awful fans with horrible accents who think they're the greatest club in the world. Finished polishing the Auto Windscreens Shield yet?

Blackburn: Positive. Yes, I know Jack Walker bought the title, and Allardyce plays football the wrong way, but somehow they still manage a "positive" for me. No idea how!

Blackpool: Positive. Stanley Matthews, seaside, fairytale promotion. What's not to like?

    Bolton: John McGinley. Guess.

Chelsea: Negative. Two-bit club who bought success and the media love them because they're in London.

Everton: Neutral. Don't really care either way.

Fulham: Positive. Used to be negative, but then Hodgson got involved and turned them into a decent side.

Liverpool: Negative. Big chip on shoulder, You'll Never Walk Alone, Hicks and Gillett.

Man City: Negative. All due to the new owners and their cash which has tipped the football balancing act further away from merit and dreams and more towards pure, hard, business cash. Without them it would be "neutral", erring towards "positive".

Man United: Neutral. They've generally played the right way over time, though I can't stand the Glazers which has changed me from "positive" to "neutral".

Newcastle: Neutral. I'd like to like them, but the media love-in makes me ill.

Stoke: Negative. Generally awful side to watch, likes to think they're the biggest and most successful club in Staffordshire despite about one League Cup win in 1843.

Sunderland: Positive. Proper footballing club, supported by decent people on the whole. Newcastle without the media spin.

Tottenham: Neutral. Traditionally decent football on the one hand, London and Harry Redknapp on the other.

West Brom: Positive. I'm in the minority here, I know, but I think that the Albion are a decent traditional football club generally supported by decent people. Yes, they've got a number of tossers, but then so have we. I hope they survive this season, but I don't think they will.

West Ham: Negative. Gold. Sullivan. Brady. London. We won the World Cup.

Wigan: Neutral. I can't get would up either way about them. They simply exist. Sorry.

Arsenal: Negative. Led by an moaning squirrel-faced tosser who thinks it's his team's divine right to be treated differently from anyone else. Their fans aren't much better. Arrogant wankers.

Aston Villa: Neutral. I like O'Neill and his knowledge of football. I think he gets the best out of players and is second to only Fergie as best current British manager IMO. Would have been positive but the condescending nature of Villa fans I know has reached staggering levels now we're in 'their' league. Whisper it, but I think they feel a little bit threatened by us.

Birmingham: Negative. Historically horrible club with a disgusting set of sub-human fans.

Blackburn: Negative. The new Allardyce cloggers. Fallen a long way from their mid 90s heydey in terms of league positioning and brand of football. Fans are anonymous.

Blackpool: Positive. Can't help but like Holloway and can see why they're trying to do it on the cheap. Won't work though.

Bolton: Negative. Don't like Coyle and their fans are morons.

Chelsea: Negative. Apart from assembling the most prominent Motley Crue of detestable footballers in the English game, effectively buying the league with their grotesque wealth, having a deluded set of supporters who suddenly think they're the biggest club in the world despite having last won the league in 1955 pre-Abramovich and having that horrendous stain Kenyon lingering about the place, they're OK really.

Everton: Positive. Moyes is a class act but their famous old ground is a relic. Needs updating.

Fulham: Positive. Everyone's second favourite club and probably mine too. Classic ground and last season's cup run was a great story.

Liverpool: Negative. I like Hodgson but Benitez's reign still leaves a bad taste in my mouth what with his nauseating whingeing and terrible attitude of some of his players

I always have the same problem, when the text goes further than the reply box.

Man City: Negative. Never liked their fans and this new-found Arabic wealth has made them unbearable. I truly hope they fail miserably.

Man Utd: Positive. Their fans are embarrassing themselves by wearing those ridiculous Norwich City scarves but I like Ferguson and his devotion to the right way of playing football.

Newcastle: Negative. Deluded 'Best Fans In The World' who suddenly think a great season in a vastly inferior league means they're comfortable top 6 candidates. You're not, you have no money to spend and you have Sol Campbell. 17th if you're lucky. And Ashley is still a prick.

Stoke: Negative: Begrudgingly admire what Pulis has done for the Clayheads but their away tactics are anti-football and their fans are vile.

Sunderland: Neutral. Can't help but like the Mackams, they remind me of us. Steve Excuse is a massive bell-end though.

Tottenham: Neutral. I'm probably in the minority when I say I like appy arry. They don't really bother me either way.

West Ham: Negative. The Porno Twins. Horrible fans. Hope they suffer.

West Brom: Negative. Will the purveyors of Total Football stay up? Will they fuck.

Wigan: Neutral. Non-entity. Whelan is a grade A tosser though.

    Deutsch Wolf ;

Its bloody Green and YELLOW!!!! Gold don't come into it...just had this conversation with a Man U fan and he agrees...Norwich colours....End of!

    as for the rest;
Arsenal; Positive, Have to kinda like their style....despite Wenger.
Aston Villa; Positive, a fairly big team with the same values as Wolves...young, hungry and mostle British.
Birmingham, Negative, despite a large number of my extended family being Blouse fans the majority of fans have an extremely over inflated opinion of their club...and its totally unfounded! Hate is a strong word BUT.....
Blackburn; Neutral, not bothered about them...
Blackpool; Positive, you gotta like the underdog....that was US this time last year and another plain speaking Manager.
Bolton; Negetive, negetive, NEGETIVE!!! Only ONE Wanderers?? whatever...
Chelsea; Neutral, one of my brothers is a Chelsea fan and has supported THEM as long as i've supported Wolves...Not a "plastic fan" and there are a lot of true fans...
Everton; Positive, i like their style...they are a good old fashioned English team
Fulham; Positive, they are just like your granny....you gotta love 'em
Liverpool; Negetive, Fans who STILL think its the 1970's/80's and they are the greatest team in the world...
Man City; Positive/Negetive/Neutral......such a strange team...some great players, great fans but how long till they are the new Chelsea/Man U, attracting the kids and glory fans?!
Man Utd; Negetive/Neutral, depending on my mood...too many glory "fans" and all thats wrong with the game in England...them and Liverpool trading in debt but so big they get away with it!
Newcastle; Negetive....i live up here and the Newcastle fans(or majority) are SO FAR UP THEIR OWN ARSES they make me sick! A HUGE club who should be dominating the English game.....Er, whatever!
Stoke; Negetive just from the "Delap syndrome" Fans who think doing "throwing actions" and cheering actually winning a throw-in is good value for their money
Sunderland; Positive, good fans who have a great respect for us....
    Spurs; Neutral....not bothered...
West Brom; Neutral....i dont live in Wolverhampton or that area so have been spared all the negetive bits.i dont really care about them but do want to beat them!
West Ham; It used to be positive but now its a BIG Negetive!
Wigan; Rugby League town, way too high in the football pyramid...the sooner they disappear down the leagues, the better!
Wolves; Positive, Fantastic club, Fantastic fans, simply the best football team in the world! :-)

The teams i dis-like are in the following order of distain.....

Blues - Have really taken a severe hatred for them over the last 2 years
Albion - We are due the upper hand in this fixture and hopefully this will start to happen now we're in the prem (hope they survive though so we can have a black country derby for years to come)
Liverpool - In Telford i find more plastic Liverpool supporters than any other and i'm sick of hearing 5 European bloody cups!!

As for the rest, i can't say i feel a like or dislike for any of them.

Arsenal: Neutral, like the way they play, hate the prick that manages them
Aston Villa: Negativel, my hatred for all things brummie takes care of this one.
    Birmingham City: Negative, as above.
Blackburn: Neutral, had some good away days there over the years.
Blackpool: Positive, if only for the fact some of my nose is probably still on Yates's floor. Bless the lovely locals.
Bolton: Negative, all the " there's only 1 wanderers" bollocks by their 10 fans only adds fuel to the fire of my feelings towards them.
Chelsea: Neutral, don't particularly like them, but the fact they won the title and not United, scores them brownie points.
Everton: Neutral, prefer them to Liverpool.
Fulham: Neutral, they come from nowhere and they'll be back there shortly.
Liverpool: Negative, won everything when i was a kid and for the rest of life i've had to listen to their fans crow about it.
Man City: Neutral, decent set of fans, but i'm finding it increasingly hard to like them.
Man United: Negative, everything that i hate about the modern game.
Newcastle: Negative, the geordie nation, need i say anymore.
Stoke: Negative, their fans are just too loud, or so the media would have you believe.
Sunderland: Neutral, prefer them to Newcastle, but only in the way that i'd rather be shot than stabbed.
Tottenham: Negative, old Arry gives me the shits.
West Brom: Negative, i have nothing good to say about a bus stop. The sooner they stop the No 79, the better for the rest of civilisation.
West Ham: Negative, the new owners make this an easy one.
Wigan: Negative, sick to fucking death of listening to Dave Whelan bleat about how Norman Deeley finished his career. I'd gladly pay someone to finish his current one.

Arsenal: positive, despite the constant whining of the frog and henry gate, they play the kind of football i expect from a prem side, although they are a bunch of nancies.
Aston Villa: positive, i like MON, and i think that they as a club, know their place (currently) and act like it.
Birmingham City:i have never hated another football team ever, except leeds under revie, but blues are the new exception. this whole club is a blight on football in general
Blackburn: neutral, buty if big sam ever took over at molineux, i'd be looking for the rope.
Blackpool: positive, i love it when the little guys get a chance to rattle a few cages, and i like holloway, he's funny.
Bolton: Negative, shit shit shit shit shit shit, and coyle can piss off as well.
Chelsea: negative, hate lampard , cashley and especially terry, and just don't like clubs who simply try to buy success, they simply fuck it up for everyone else.
Everton: Positive, love moyes to bits and i like the way they handle themselves.
Fulham: Positive, have my doubts about hughes mind.
Liverpool: Negative, piss off, you're crap and you know you are, you deserve the yanks, and don't deserve woy.
Man City: negative, see chelsea i really really really hope they miss out on champs league this season.
Man United: Neutral, they are, who they are, the plastic fans are another matter.
Newcastle: Negative, jumped up bunch of geordie twats
Stoke: Neutral, they've found a way to survive, as much as it bores the arse off me.
Sunderland: Positive, like em, like bruce and the fans seem ok too.
Tottenham: negative, am just waiting for redknapp to do it again, which, if half the players he's supposedly bid for come on board, he will have. and they stole the eufa cup off us.
West Brom: neutral, i know they're a rival but i don't hate them , not like the blouses.
West Ham: Negative (without the pornodwarves it would be positive), i really want those two tits to get relegated and found out in some dodgy dealings by the fa.
Wigan: Neutral, if they keep n'zog and rodallogalloga, they'll be ok. if they don't.............

You got the original thread off the West Ham board mate?

Default Your take on the other premiership sides

Like most things on the West Ham board on 606 it quickly degenerated into a slanging match with Spurs fans....

Unreadable. Awful software that hasn't been updated in a decade and a shocking level of 'debate'.
