Max Kilman

Is he strictly left sided?

on Kilman, I thought that his passing forwards was very good indeed v fulham. Indeed, though he kept it relatively simple, he was willing to bring the ball forwards and play passes through the lines into players feet. Neto, Raul and Podence all received the ball from him in this way.

If we can develop that, we have a prospect of a really good ball playing CH.

The issue we have is his age, for context it's the same as Lescott was when we sold him. It's difficult to know what to do, he needs to play football, but he's a bit old to be a project

Didn't come to this level till later than many so age needs to be ignored - he still has enough years to carve out a good career, whether here or elsewhere.

Like with MGW I wouldn't be opposed to a loan to a championship club to see how he gets on. We have Saiss and Marcal who can both play that position - unless Nuno moves him ahead of Saiss

Sometimes players just hang around forever. Luke Garbutt was 27 when he left Everton, five league appearances. Kevin Long has been at Burnley for 10 years, is 30 now and has only just nudged over 50 league games.

Admittedly Garbutt is just rubbish, got endless loans out and never progressed but Long has forever been happy to just stay there and play occasionally. He doesn't seem too bad when he does play either.

You know my thoughts on loans as a whole so I'm not getting into that, I certainly don't see many Championship clubs playing a back three who'll also ask him to pass it out as we want him to.

He was fantastic last night - deserves a run of games. The way he closes space is absolutely brilliant, makes it easier for himself to get the interceptions or make the opponents go backwards. He really has the potential to go a long way.

I thought he looked excellent, very composed with and without the ball. Never looked troubled. Only downside is he didn’t launch Costa at some point after his dive at the start.
Very much deserves his place in the team, looks much more solid than Saiss and with better use of the ball too.

Thought he did really well. Although he looks a bit uncomfortable I also thought Saiss played well at LWB. Would expect both to play on Sunday

Saiss did well, but looked out of place positionally at times. I'd rather have Marcal there, but can understand Saiss continuing.

Defensively its fine but going forward I thought we looked a bit light down the left particularly first half. Anyone got any heat maps of last night to see what Saiss movements were?

Are they the wrong way round? Kilman clearly has some technical ability too could he be a left wing back?

Played left wing back in one of the European games last season didn't he? I'm going to say Besiktas away but could be wrong.

But to be honest we've spent millions of pounds on two LB's we shouldn't need to shoe horn anyone into that position.

No. Kilman is a LCB. Wing back is not really his position unless a dire emergency. Saiss is a temporary fix as it is.

Parents gutted his surname isn't Kiliman?

I really like Kilman, but he's slower than a stoned tugboat. He's not an LWB
