Coronavirus

Yeah exactly my point think they need a better way of measurement surely its about time the 'had covid 19 within 28 days = cause of death covid' way of measuring is looked at. Doesn't make any difference to the dead but these figures are being used to ruin peoples livelyhood to massively restrict peoples freedoms there needs to be better measures so comparisions can be made more accurately.
Tier system seems to have eased on quite a few things but got stricter on pubs (even compared to the previous) hasn't it?

Tier 2 only drinks with substantial meal (basically shutting proper pubs) that was tier 3 last time wasn't it?

Its ok though think he's hoping the oiks will be pleased with the fans back at soccer headline and not notice that.
The excess deaths to the average is the figure which I look to, which is over 70,000 now I believe year to date. This won't be people tested because of Covid, but those who missed treatment because of it

Substantial is open to interpretation. I know of some traditional pubs in the North West who insisted all customers bought a cheese or ham cob and remained open. Derby only went into Tier 2 a few days before the second lockdown, but the one time I went in a pub, the same old regulars were sat at the same old tables so not sure how rigidly that element is enforced. Trips would have a better view

Maybe controlling the numbers of people travelling to the same place at the same time is the view they are taking to start off with
Perhaps, but if so that's surely arse about face, you'd struggle to stay 1 or 2ms apart at Aggborough (for example) if 50% of capacity attended.

Also the travel infrastructure is far greater at the bigger grounds than at the smaller grounds.

No, it's up to 4,000 fans or 50 per cent of stadium capacity - whichever is lower. Which is why it seems stupid.
That does seem odd, although if they're happy with that ratio it would encourage lower league attendance.

I guess the concern is going to / from the game rather than the actual game itself based on the numbers

But bigger grounds tend to attract a far bigger percentage of non local fans than smaller grounds do.

I think the point of it is really at the moment to make a token gesture for prem/championship clubs etc but is mainly aimed at lower league clubs.

As the first measure I don't personally mind that don't mind that thats where the help is needed first. A lot of lower league clubs if they happen to fall in tier 1 areas (not that I expect there to be many tier 1 areas this side of the new year) will likely be able to allow in pretty much their average attendance.

they're saying these tiers are here to stay till spring and won't be reviewed till then

I don't think you need to worry about this aspect. They change their minds more often than my kids when I ask them what they want for their lunch.

Yep for pubs the tiers have all nudged one.

Tier 1 is no household mixing in pubs (previous level 2)

Tier 2 is substantial meal only for booze (previous level 3)

Tier 3 takeaway only (what it is now)
Is there a link to this info? Had a quick look but can't see it yet.

No household mixing even in tier one kills the prospect of a pre match pint even if lucky enough to get a ticket in the ballot.

oh and 2000-4000 inside Molineux whilst being great to be back will be a big back of shit
you wouldn't know they were in if they were in the north bank/south bank/steve bull/billy quiet*

I’m at Birmingham airport and it’s so weird - only 2 flights this evening and pretty much no people here at all. Even Wetherspoons is closed :(

Thanks. That was the one bit I was looking for.
Yeah, apologies. Tier 1 is rule of 6, any household inside and out. Cant see many areas being on this tier to start with, but hopefully post-Christmas it will be

The wife took my Mom to Cannock hospital for some tests the other day, it was like the Marie Celeste !

3 households able to mix for 5 days.

As a family of 5 we’ve been in effective isolation for months since the rule of 6 came in - got to say this a bit of a relief.
People will still do what they like. They aren't going to see one side of the family, but not the other, and nor are they going to see some of the one side but not the rest. It's just a licence to please yourself.

It’s going to be impossible to police whether a family meets with two other households on Christmas Eve, and two different households on Christmas Day.

It’s impossible for them to police anything they put in place. They don’t care. This is just the big hoorah for ‘Boris Saves Xmas’ and we’ll pay the price in January.

Well having done as we are supposed to throughout we will, I can’t vouch for others - that’s up to them.

Don't think its going to make much difference to what was going to happen anyway, those of us who are careful will still be careful even if we have the full 3 family bubble, those fuckwits that will abuse the relaxation of rules would have done that anyway regardless of any restrictions
