Loan Watch 2020-2021

He was brilliant for Swansea in a small number of games - hope he gets game time for us to prove he can do it and keeps getting games once the injuries are back.

That’s a big leap of faith that MGW has made the necessary improvements in 5 championship appearances for Swansea. If he does come back the 4 2 3 1 must suit him more. I do worry about his goal scoring ability. Two in 79 games and none in the league for us in 53. I guess Cutrone is next.

He was looking decent before he had that back injury. He's still only 20 (will be 21 later this month) so it's way too early to write him off.

He couldn't really have done anymore at Swansea and he does seem to have made an impression. Time will tell

Some of the stuff on here is priceless.

Last year, MGW and Cutrobe were the biggest piles of tripe to ever wear the shirt - now they’re both gonna save our season.

For the record, I’ve seen every minute of every game MGW has ever played for Wolves.......and bar a couple of moments (Chelsea/Arsenal) he’s looked largely absolutely out of his depth.

Let’s see. He’s very lucky to get another go.

I don't think anyone believes MGW will save our season. What constitutes as saving, anyway? No one has said we are going to go down.

I think everyone is just intrigued about what he could do in the 10 role, as opposed to what we have seen so far where he has mostly played further back.

Wasn't even that. 4 Champ appearances and 1 League Cup I think? He did look good though, I think saying he looked too good for that league is bit premature/optimistic, however.

I'd love MGW to come back and seize his chance, he seemed to be stalling last year, and it looked to me like we were outgrowing him. I can see why we recalled him, for me he needs games now and we can see whether he has any kind of future here or not

Noticed Cutrone isn't in the Fiorentina squad today also. Guessing his time is up there and we will loan him elsewhere shortly.

Fooking hell, have they seem a matchday thread when we're drawing?
I refuse to read Match Day Threads. Like I have said in the past if everything I said during a game was typed out I would be cringing reading it back later.

Getting furious because the club are recalling an asset to cover an injury issue is just fucking daft. Then throwing in shite like Fosun don't care, Fosun doing it on the cheap or doesn't say much about our ambition is just embarrasing. The same people who on the 2nd Feb, when Podence is still injured and we lose another player for a few games will be on Twitter demanding to know why we didn't recall MGW when we had the chance. Up there with people who constantly tweet the club with "ANNOUNCE whichever player we have been linked with" every 5 bastard minutes

Time will indeed tell Agreed it will . He is young enough. However we already have a project in Fabio Silva and he has made more appearances than MGW this season. MGW does have 26 premier games and was not the finished arty , hence his loan. I do, however think that more by luck than judgement the new system could suit him and Pizza Pat!
Rui
Semedo Coady Saiss RAN
Neves Otosawie
Traore MGW Neto
Silva or Cutrone

young and raw but you don’t know until you try. Still a bit pissed off with this season’s recruiting. Obvious deficiencies not addressed and now we may be reliant on players deemed not suitable or not ready 5 months ago. I really hope that mgw grasps the opportunity and shows what he can do in Foden style. Cutrone just needs to come here and score a few and he will be forgiven quick enough

Can't understand any vitiol (elsewhere really) re this move - is MGW the return of the prodigal son, unlikely, but we have a small squad with more injuries than we have suffered over the last 2 years combined so it won't hurt.

Doesn't stop us signing players if the right ones are available but as we know a) these aren't easy to obtain & b) don't always work out if they are signed.

Anyone who looked at our bench v Brighton should realise that someone who has any experience in the PL will be more useful than a 19 yr old whose never done so.

I've seen glimpses of quality and class from MGW in the past, but I can't say the same about Vitinha.
MGW is our player, and we should be prioritising his football education, esp. by playing him in the right position. With any luck he'll blossom and become a regular.

I guess if Ronan was anywhere other than Grasshoppers, we'd consider bringing him back too, with everything else that's going on.

Does anyone know why Ronan isn't getting starts for Grasshoppers? You'd think he'd be one of the best players at the level of the Swiss 2nd tier.

I'm quite shocked to learn MGW played 26 games for us, thought he just made a few sub appearances and the odd start.
Anyway whatever....hope he'll get a few starts, put in a couple of good performances and get the haters off his back, personally never thought he was as bad as some made him out to be.
