Coronavirus

As long as you're not going to moan like Pablo (I can say that as he's probably getting his nails done )
I did do some right whinging to the wife last night, but she’s used to it :)

Still not heard a peep about a potential vaccine date which is a concern as I am forty nine in two months.

Paddy my instinct is we're looking at late april earliest. Priority for the next 3 weeks will be 2nd doses for those already vaccinated and in higher priority groups. When moderna and others return to the fore, there will likely be a mass push for the over 40's, and it wouldn't surprise me if there are some 24 hour vaccination centres opening up for May.

Been fully vaccinated a bit now. So are my grandparents but they're still not really interested in getting out the house. Still can't meet my cousin's kid as his missus is para. I might just go and lick people's faces outside Tesco

I think there might be a lot of people who continue to keep themselves to themselves

Well you know it is unlikely until the end of April after the last announcement. You will be in the 1st batch when the 1st doses fully resume

Just keep checking the online booking portal

Must be regional as I know quite a few under 50's without underlying health conditions who have been done around here by booking online. None of them got it via a GP call

If you're a bit concerned, you don't need to wait till you get a letter or call from your GP, just go on the govt website, fill in your details (ignore what is says about age groups) and it will either tell you aren't eligible yet or it will let you book up.

I probably won't read "Failures of State" as it would be far too depressing and likely send me into an angry stupor, but for those that might here is a review of a book written by 2 Sunday Times journalists that focuses on the Government's actions throughout the Coronavirus pandemic.

So far Bill Gates has made me eat some cereal and put the rubbish out. Playing the long game then. I see you Bill.

Bill needs to step up his game, I’ve ignored my work windows laptop and fired up the mac

So some of the international travel standards appearing ahead of the 1st announcement on Monday. Green are the countries which should be accessible from May 17th , expect just a lateral flow test on return to the UK if you’ve been jabbed once (presume fully jabbed means no testing)

On a personal level, hope this is correct as things should only get better for the Green countries. Mainland Europe could be a git though. Spain & Greece will probably fall into green by May 17th though

Oh well, looks like it will be Summer 2022 before we go touring on the continent again

A lot can change in 4 weeks. As we have shown, lockdowns and getting your vaccinations programme on track can make a huge difference and very quickly indeed (same as in Israel)

EU is actually ramping up their programme now, so would expect the figures in France etc to drop from May (especially as France are now back in a lockdown). Possible that a lot of the EU will open for travel from June.

Also, poor old South Africa - Very low numbers but red listed because of a variant

J & J one dose vaccine coming to sweden soon, great news and hopefully the shot can last quite a long time
