Hey There Wolves fans,

Since 2014, we—the students and professors of the Know Rivalry Project—have been answering rivalry questions for sports in North America with the help of message board members. Now we are expanding our research to the English Premier League and could use your help. Please help us ensure that Wolves are included by taking 9 minutes to complete our updated survey:

Our previous results in the US have been featured in numerous sports media outlets, as well as the Wall Street Journal and New York Times. You can view those results, links to media coverage, and learn more about us at our recently updated KnowRivalry.com website.

We use the Qualtrics online survey software for data collection. This academic research has been approved by two US universities' Institutional Review Boards (IRB) and it poses no risks to respondents. You'll find more information on the disclosure agreement that is required to start the survey. Thank you for helping us to include Wolves by participating and please feel free to share this with any other fans that may also help.

Completed.

I gave all 100 points to Albion, they're our only proper rivals.

You won't get many ticks for "take support away from Wolves", it's tribal round here. You have Wolves areas and Albion areas and there isn't very much of a crossover.

Edit: Left the first text box blank as the question made no sense. Answered everything else though.

Yep the Villa rivalry is very phoney

I hated Villa when they had Dr Weird, Fat Keith and the crime novelist as the three figureheads of the club. All gone now so whatever.

We hardly ever played them when I was growing up, they were a complete irrelevance. Plus they have Blues, that's their rivalry, we have our own.

Built up to by a few clowns on Twitter from both clubs, plus a certain local radio station deliberately playing fans of each other to. It’s fair to say it’s easing up a bit now tho.

Jeez. Got to the rivalry bit and there's WAY too many questions going over the same thing. Sorry but I got bored and quit.

Rivalries are organic. Some explode and are new or dissipate. Likewise, City hated United but most Man Utd viewed Liverpool as the main rival this has changed with City challenging the United hegemony. By the same token nigh on a generation of Leeds/United fans won't know what that game means outside of parental tales.

The Villa one exploded moreover because we were competing at the top of the table (and we were/are threatening their hegemony on Midlands football)the clowns running Villa decided to publicly be judge jury and executioner of our ownership model more than anything some ghoul on Twitter said.

I'd still say Liverpool is the big game for United fans.

And yet Everton/City, there's basically never ever been anything, even when they were close together in the league. So it's not just Mancs hate Scousers and vice versa.

Arsenal vs United from the late 90s to the mid 00s was a big one that had nothing to do with geography.

If you're really old then you might view Wolves vs Stoke as a rivalry but I'm only a little bit old. I don't like them because of their mutant fans and frequently mutant football, but it makes no odds to me what they do.

Some Albion fans kid themselves that Villa are their "real" rivals, dream on. They don't care about you, lads.

Yeah, our non geographical one would be Bolton.

Long before McGinley we cost them promotion in '77. Already promoted we could have no showed and let them come up with us, as was we won and Brian Clough's Forest joined us.

So we weren't especially liked by them and then '95 goes down and the wheel Mcginley out at any opportunity against us to wind us up.

I guess the other would be Reading with McGhee and then in 2009 it's dissipated on our side but I know they're still not particularly fond.

Norwich is the obvious one sided one. Still sing "we only hate Wolves and Ipswich" so I believe.
Coventry and Walsall's hatred of us is one sided too

Didn't realise Cov disliked us, never felt anything when I've been there for games.

The Walsall one is replicated by smaller teams near bigger ones all over, Rotherham with Sheff Wed etc etc

Cov are desperate for rivals. They've tried manufacturing it with Villa and Leicester too.

I suggest Racing Club Warwick might be more suitable.

Edit: Just remembered that Kenny had a guy offering him outside from an entirely different stand one year, great scenes :D

Did get a bit tasty with Villa in the 90s IIRC, when Dublin went there? Villa revelled in pantomime villain for a year or two and then moved on.

They nicked Dublin and Boateng off them.

Villa only really care about Blues tbh, they had the occasional delusion of grandeur (yes, really) and hated United. Got nothing back.

Shrewsbury aren't keen on us either :(

I remember Vale fans going wild here when we were in L1. Trying to scale the walls of the Steve Bull and all that. Could just be because they're feral cunts, like.

I know our rivals are that stripey lot, but my main hatred is Birmingham City, i fucking hate them, this is due to living in Birmingham though. Many Brummie Wolves also feel the same way. Oh, my good lady follows Albion (bitch), but somehow our relationship works fine.
