Everton 1-0 Wolves: Verdict Thread

Do you want a new manager?
As on the other thread, I am ambivalent - love what Nuno has done for us, but am not convinced that he can take us much further.

I would neither mourn nor celebrate his departure.

That said, after this season, I think he deserves next season to give it a real go under more normal circumstances.

I think that's a fair assessment. He knows he needs to improve and we'll know by October if he's capable or not.

I thought we played well first half but were toothless in the final third. Second half toothless in more areas of the pitch. Didn’t deserve to lose and should have had a penalty.
Nuno out, abysmal from Moutinho and he’s an arrogant idiot are among the most ludicrous statements I’ve seen on here.

3 and a half years of the best football in my lifetime and half a season of below par performances, with good reasons for that too and you want Nuno gone?
The best footballer I’ve seen in a Wolves shirt and because he hasn’t hit the heights of before he’s been abysmal and he’s an idiot? He wasn’t great today but nowhere near as bad as some will have you believe.
Disgraceful comments.

Really glad we flogged Moutinho in one more game.

The guy has given more than any 33-34 year old should in the last 100 odd games, so let's leave him on for another 80 minutes in a nothing game when its clear to Stevie Wonder he's running on fumes.

The disrespect shown to him is outrageous given what he's given us in the last three seasons. Idiot? Get in the fucking bin.

Reading between the lines with Nuno's comments this week and I think the media line of players from the English Leagues is going to be correct. A bit of talk of settling into a new Country and the struggles.

So, if we give Willian Jose a few more months, he’ll be ace....

I'd be going after McNeil and Toney as my number 1 targets.

Go all Fred and attack, attack, attack.

(May have to get a central defender in at some point too).

A nothing game that we learn't nothing we didn't already know.

Penalty - yes clearly, but not given so it wasn't.

Am up on Sunday, but that's more about going somewhere else than rural Dorset after 14 months & hopefully meeting one or two others than the actual football.

Pressure from the board I doubt it a lot, pressure from fans some yes probably about 25-30% currently.
It’s fair to say it’s been disappointing from many aspects this season and Nuno certainly comes under that.
As I’ve said the inability to make us more solid from defending set pieces has been highly frustrating.
I don’t think keeping him in charge is sentimental decision at all. 3/4 seasons have been brilliant it’s worth at least just seeing what he can do this summer.

Not sure on a lot of people’s fascination with podence? Comments like if we had Podence, Neto and Jimenez today we would have won are daft and clutching at straws.
Am I the only one who doesn’t see it with Podence?

I’m sorry, but Moutinho WAS abysmal tonight. It’s not his fault, though. He shouldn’t have played (I said as much) and we’ve been forced to play him in far too many games over the last couple of years because of the small squad policy. But tonight, we had another option and played him anyway - then left him on for far too long - so those decisions are on Nuno and I lay no blame with Joao. I was talking about his performance in this game in isolation.

I totally agree that calling him an “arrogant idiot” is completely bang out of order and I’ll ask that you don’t refer to my comment in the same breath, thanks very much.

So having three really good attackers in our team / squad would have made no difference?

Podence is a good player when he isn't injured.

He wasn’t abysmal.
He wasn't very good tonight, let's be honest. He gave the ball away a lot, his set pieces were pretty rubbish and he looked incapable of covering much ground. We know he has been better than that for us over the last 2 seasons, but tonight he was very poor.

Abysmal is a pretty strong word, he was poor but not abysmal.

I saw none of the game, i took my wife to a couples retreat, only 2 rooms in the place.

Again though I am really pissed off with Social media and comments on here about Nuno.

Give your fucking heads a wobble. We are giving the kids some minutes.
I can excuse Villa and Shit Fans for being so woefully ignorant about Wolves, but fuck me some of the posts on Facebook, Twitter and here are on a par with vile and Shit fans.
