"Bruno Lage loves super attacking football"

I know fuck all about the man but I do like that.

He's going to need two new CBs if he wants to play super attacking football here...

I love super, attacking football too.

Super attacking football, I'm less convinced.

I think if it is Lage (likely) we just need to back him. Nobody knows a lot about him, and Benfica fans seem to think the players/board were more to blame for his horrendous second season than Lage himself.

Like I said yesterday, "get behind him" isn't as black and white as people make out.

I'll be there next season and I've never barracked a manager at a game ever, not even that drink driving clown who somehow stained our club. That can wait for the pub or on here or on Twitter, whatever.

That doesn't mean I have to pretend it's a good idea if I don't think it is, which I don't.

Gerrit forward football.

I know next to nothing about him which is pretty much what I knew about Nuno 4 years ago and we sat in Bala all confused at our starting 11 in his opening game. Don't want us to be doing this but we are and all I can do is trust the process but then I got excited when Walter was appointed so what do I know.

I suppose I mean just don't write him off after a couple of games. By all means think it's a bad idea, but none of us know anything about him or whether he's better than Nuno or not. As I said, Portuguese fans seem to like him...

Agree with this I am more than a bit sceptical about this appointment. I think if we appoint Lage we will be looking again before January - obviously if he comes in he gets full support at games and I hope he proves me completely wrong. I just don't see that 18 months that he has on his CV as enough to justify him getting this job and I definitely don't see it as an upgrade on the previous incumbent so it makes little to no sense.

I had no problem writing Saunders off after about three games, it was obvious that he was a moron and the football was beyond appalling.

Olofinjana was obviously rubbish inside a couple of games. Same with José.

Obviously I hope he's amazing and we have an even better era than we've just had. Put me down as sceptical for now though.

Does Mr Lager come with a 7 man backroom staff? Asking for a friend....

If Martins is going to Bordeaux as rumoured you’ve got to imagine Fosun rate Lage higher than him.

I guess we can take some comfort in the fact that if Lage is hugely shit, Fosun will pull the trigger quickly.

Then we can look forward to BFS saving us or whoever the Portugese version is.

They're an investment firm, they've seen an asset that's going for way below market value (they are in admin, or the French equivalent of it) and at worst they should make a quick buck inside a year or two out of it. Nothing more to it than that.

Wolves aren't going to have a large net spend this summer.

I think if he was downright awful at Benfica I'd be sceptical, but he did have a season of scoring 103 goals and a 94% win percentage. Whether it's a poor league or not, that is fairly impressive.

Everyone tied to Benfica does premise Lage getting sacked with "well the board this... and the players that...". I haven't really seen him be attributed 100% of the blame.
