Bellend commentators

Him and Ally McCoist for the Wolves thumping at Anfield were sickening, almost as bad as the performance.

Liverpool fans loved him though, obviously, but there are nearly as many comments about Clive on the Liverpool Match thread as there was about the dismal performance.

My pet hate with him in the 90s/00s/10s was how he would ALWAYS mention Gary Lewin the England physio when he came onto the pitch, it was like he had a bet for how many times he could mention him, he would never mention another physio when doing other games. My head nearly exploded when Lewin broke his ankle and our Clive wouldn't fucking shut up about it (for once, with reason)

Funny on talksport this morning with Alan Brazil trying to link Big Sam with the Wolves job, Steve Harmison shot him straight down saying Wolves wouldn’t be happy with that at all.

Heard that, Big Al's infamous managerial shortlist normally consists of Big Sam, Big Mick, Moyesie, Brucie and Eddie Howe

Talksport shamelessly have let Dean Saunders back into the fold for the Euros.
That’s 3 people now they employ or use who’ve had drink driving convictions one of who was also convicted for racial abuse.
Another guest who has a serious assault against their name.
Yes all for giving people a second chance but not on a national broadcaster.

Its a reason not to listen.

Andy Brassell is coming on TalkSport to give his view on Lage so thought I'd have a listen.
I've caught the end of Dean Saunders talking about Wales's hopes in the Euros. He said the following... "You can't get anything better than playing in a major tournament for your Country. I never did that but then coaching your Country in a tournament! I never did that, but commentating on them, I get to do that"

So not actually PLAYING for your Country then? 🤣

I like Micah Richards, he's smart, funny and offers a modern day player insight, but he seems to get the wrong vehicle a lot

im a big fan of his on the MOTD podcast he does with Lineker and Shearer. Its 15 odd years since Shearer retired now so Richards really modernises their content and has some great stories concerning the modern game and players. I do admit he does laugh a bit too much in short pundit spots but when they've got a longer time frame he comes into his own more.

But the motd podcast is about looking at past events and ranking them. When he wasn’t born or has any recollection of half of them......
As an individual he’s infectious but maybe needs to rein in a little. Some of his columns on the Bbc website were poor though. Calling for City to sign Costa to win them the premier league being one of them.

Thats the point re modernising.

Lineker can talk about playing during the 80's while Shearer was growing up, Shearer can talk about the 90's when Richards was growing up and Richards talks about playing in modern football over the his 13 year career. Especially as somebody that was on the inside at Man City when the money arrived. Even if you conservatively take 5 years before he made his debut thats still 20 years worth of footballing knowledge he can draw on before he say researches what a Julian Dicks is.

I think Richards is being caricatured as "larger than life black fella" by producers so you get the OTT crap on TV, Wright was the same when he started and he eventually said he wanted to be seen as a more serious pundit.

I mean, we may as well just consign the study of history to the bin then? I'm reminded of being in a pub quiz and being accused of cheating by 2 sore losers, as I wasn't born when the beatles were about, so how could I know about their hits?

Richards is also there to contrast the other pundits views. He can bring in modern developments that contrast with their stories of "and then we all got pissed..."

I do get that he does bring a modern twist to it and that you can bring a knowledge about something where you weren't even born by studying it for example....1966 World Cup Final MOTM - Alan Ball

What I've seen/heard of it in this series though there doesn't seem to be a great deal of studying that has taken place. I stand to be corrected though but I will start going through all of them to see if my opinion changes.

I guess I'm becoming miserable old curmudgeon and enjoyed the Wright/Shearer combination. It still makes me smile now the thought of Steve Bruce running around Old Trafford trying to find Ian Wright after an altercation in the tunnel.

He doesn't know anything before his own era which I'm not blaming him for, but it renders it pointless.

They did "shock transfers" and he had nothing of value to say about Cantona moving to United, why would he, he was 4.

What an arsehole, see ya! Won't miss all the bollocks he spouts on transfer deadline day

Will he remain on Talkshite? The only reason to listen to his show is Simon Jordan, who is usually ace. White is a sycophantic cock end.

SJ is excellent

He (SJ) has tweeted tonight that it means he's stuck with him on TS
