Jota was pictured in the Portugal style kit last season and sold a day later to Liverpool. It means nothing unfortunately.
 
Those shots would have been done over 2 months ago. They'll use them for any player who is still here. I'm sure there would have been Rui ones in the GK shirt as well

In the US, for sports like Am. football and basketball, the "authentic" moniker usually refers to a couple of things:
  • The same material as the actual shirts/jerseys worn during games
  • Stitched on names, badges, etc., rather than iron-on
It's the second bit that makes them "worth it". Having the player name, number, team badge, etc, stitched on is a massive improvement. Not that that will be news to anyone here.

Of course, I can't be certain that the same demarcation between "replica" and "authentic" exists in the UK.
