Spoilt Princesses moaning about Media Coverage of Wolves

Can't find the thread where we were discussing it a few weeks ago but my Athletic trial expired yesterday. Didn't renew.

Literally just got an email off them offering 50% off for a year if I do it today or tomorrow. Undecided tbh as I read quite a few of the articles through the week at some point, but I rarely use it for Wolves content.

Anyway suggests their retention rate isn't that good (in this day and age, you can't really rely on people forgetting and auto-renewing, everyone is so accustomed to having to mess around with various companies every year/18 months/2 years) but they do still need the cash through the door.

In the grand scheme of things it's £2.50 a month and supporting journalism is a good thing. If it's good enough to justify it, like.
If you hold off, they'll eventually offer you £1 a month for a year.

I thought twice about biting on that, but ultimately, I had a year at 50% off already and barely read 1-2 things a week. The Wolves articles were nice at first, but you can only read so many where are they now? type articles reminiscing about the 80s and 90s before they all start to bleed into one longform thinkpiece about why SJH should have spent more money in the first Prem season. 2021 Spiers is less itk than @Hoganstolemywife so what's the point? I can read his musings for free

I appreciate this post is a year old, but that's where I am again. Not renewed and they've defaulted straight to half price. It's worth that to me, I like most of the Spiers content if not the style, some of the wider football stuff and signed up for the NFL in the first place, so it's definitely worth the £2.50 a month to me. I know a better deal is out there so depends on whether I can be arsed waiting out of principle for the sake of a tenner

I got a pound a month for six months when registering with a new account. I think at the moment it’s worth it with all the transfer news as they probably have the people with closest sources. I found it quite dry during the season especially with regards to Wolves (so just did some analysis myself!)

£2.50 a month is pretty good considering the amount crap I spend money on.

I got £1 a month for a year - think it was off some link posted on here. Can’t argue with that really.

I don't appreciate being called "some link", big man.

My £1/month expires in September I think, I'll have to check. I'll just cancel it and wait for another offer, it's a nice to have rather than a must have. The Wolves stuff is largely very weak indeed, I use it more to read up on other clubs.

Go on then, I'll bite. What's the matter?
I would have thought it was obvious - everything that happens at Wolves right now is being filtered through a negative lens by posters who are sure of a pending apocalypse, could sign galacticos themselves tomorrow, and put 2 and 2 together to make 5.

Dave Edwards now has a weekly column. My cup runneth over, truly.
Expect plenty of column inches filled with very little content.

To be fair having read his twitter posts he appears to be at least semi- literate so that should give him a head start over most writers employed there

Exclusive first look!

I knew my time at Wolves was over after I left an apple on Mr Santo's desk. I was happy when I saw it had been taken just as it had by Terry, Stale, Dean, Walter and Paul. My delight was shortlived, replaced by disappointed when I found the apple in the bin next to my Frank Lampard mask.

He's *ok* on TV if a little bland, a bit reticent to upset anyone (I mean he actually is a nice guy, even if I didn't think he could play football at all).

I hope by the end of the season the paper are praising him for his late runs to submit his work on time

Nearly spit out my coffee at this.

Gutting news for new boy Liam as he tests positive for Covid. His first PL game covering Wolves delayed for a week

By Christ, Spiers' latest bit on The Athletic is atrocious.

Whatever they're paying him, it's too much.
Yeah, lots of words to tell us… nothing.

Casually throws Joe Gomez’s name out there too!
