A game of two halves.

We surely made that way tougher than it should have been after that first half of domination. Not good for the nerves.

Lage still has a tendency to wait too long to change things around, when the tempo has dropped and we have a decent bench of attacking players. Needs to be a little bit more pro-active in that regard to give the opposition different things to worry about.

A fantastic result though. We're on a decent run at the minute. That would have been 5 wins in a row but for that late Leeds goal last week.

That's an old habit of his, did the same at Benfica I can assure you.

But major win regardless. We've come a good way so far!

Superb attacking wise first half superb defensively second half.

Back 5 (6) were very, very good, particularly RAN and Coady, whilst it felt edgy in the last 5 mins, Everton didn't create anything, their goal was fortunate, and a set piece header.

Loved Coady tonight, sharp in the challenge, committed, 4 or 5 really important blocks, excellent passing. He deserves far more respect, likewise Saiss, one shank aside.

7th in the league table, great first half, then we sat back and stopped playing as usual

Brilliant in the first half, solid and professional in the second.

I honestly don’t have any negatives at this point, we were great. Everton came back at us second half but they were always going to, there was simply no way they would make both halves as easy as the first for us.

Our defensive play is a lot of fun to watch. We look like a team. I’m loving it at the moment.

RAN, what a player he is, aside from his general very good play there were two moments a couple of minutes apart in the second half that were defensively world class. Love him

Also felt Semedo was very good, i don't agree with the criticism he has received this season, he is defensively far, far more assured than last season.

Saiss was excellent last 10 mins.

I didn't want to respond to the Matchday thread in case I jinxed him, but I am preparing to move my opinion about the Jose Sa/Rui situation onto the bad takes list, along with when I said the Neto signing seemed like some kind of Tax scam...

Had that moment today but was alert and nearly made a great save on the goal and then did fantastic from the header to not only react but get such a strong hand and direction on the push out.

If we’d have held on against Leeds we’d be 5th…

Kilman, RAN, Hwang, Raul and Trincao all excellent tonight. RAN man of the match for me.

Delighted with that.

Bruno with a big celebration at the end - did he blank Rafa? Is there bad blood there? Didn’t see a handshake anyway.

Great first half, Everton were all over the shop and we punished them. Great to see the snappy passing from the first three games on display again. RAN had possibly his best game for us, especially defensively. There were times in the second half where he was straight in to second and third challenges. Lovely finish from Raul and the whole front 3 did really well in the first 45.

Second half they obviously threw everything at us but I think until 70mins we gave as good as them and could have had the third but for Trincao's horrible miss. I don't think we necessarily planned to sit back after that, I just think Hwang and Trincao looked knackered. It would have been good to see Bruno make changes at that point and it does seem to be a pattern that he makes changes too late, but we defended solidly and we didn't give them many clear chances.

All in all that was our best performance since our opening games - 3 points and 7th in the table. COYW!

Good and deserved win. They were atrocious mind you.

some really superb football though. RAN improves the build up play so much. And trincao and Hwang provide exactly what we’ve lacked in the last 18 months, someone who can receive between the lines and someone who will run behind

Raul was sensational though. Too good for their defenders

Great win, first half superb (although Everton were poor) . Thought second half we tired and they improved, pushing us back rather than us sitting back, should still probably have won by more.
Wolves please, please can we just have one comfy 3-0 win.
Thought Trincao was very good but he really needs to put one of these chances away.
Best RAN has played I think, motm?
