Good people of Britain...........PANIC

Hopefully it eases off as we’re going to a wedding later. The kids are out in the snow already!

No snow here yet, mind you, came home last night at midnight to find our wheelie bins on the other side of the road, one of our fence panels smashed to shit neighbours garden and one of next doors fence panels upside down leaning against our house......I know what I'll be doing once the wind has subsided

Just about to set off to Norwich!!
wondering what time @Aikiwolf & his bro set off. hope everyone has a safe journey.

@Paddingtonwolf same here in brum. was out last night and walking back to the care was fun - the gusts were bloody strong! lying in bed last night and all of a sudden heard what proceeded to be a ridge tile falling off the roof, so that's a pain needing to be fixed!

however roads are now clearing. suspect the gritters weren't out as it was raining, and the rain would simply have washed the grit away.

mrs jelly wouldn't let me drive her to work this morning. she insisted taking the bus. feeling confident it'll be ok to fetch her though.

Roads were fine once we got out of our local area. Just cold, wet and miserable in Norwich.

Just had a glass-topped garden table go over and shatter in a zillion pieces. Sounded like a bomb going off. Don’t think we’ve had it anywhere near as bad as some of you guys and funnily enough I thought it might be easing, but there’s still a fair old wind out there.

Norwich is about 60 odd miles from here and it was difficult to see how you’d get much of a game of football with that going on, but fingers crossed it’s calming down and moving on fairly quickly.

Just been up to the station and at 6.45 it was 14 degrees!

Blimey, feels like you want to cut the grass and get the BBQ out. Could be up to 17 today. 30th December. That’s weird.

Wet and mild start to the new year the weatherman said, I thought one out of two wasn't a bad start.

Had a swift couple after work at the Hogs and sat outside, weird as fuck.

Just been out in the motor and had to scrape ice off the windscreen. Phone saying temp +1 but I dunno, I suppose some surfaces can be colder than the air temp. Could be up to -5 tomorrow night apparently.
A right old see-saw of temperatures lately.

Windscreens angle upwards to the sky, which radiates their infra red heat energy to the atmosphere. They'll often freeze over just above freezing temps.

You'll find this even more pronounced if you park facing uphill.

Wish this forum was around 40 years ago when I was miserably failing my physics O level.
