The Things You Are HAPPY About Thread.

That was one of the first things I learned when I was good enough. Though I was probably more into classic rock than you were, as I think you were more into heavy rock and metal. Clapton, Hendrix, Led Zep, etc. I couldn't learn enough if it.
 
No idea why I have never worked it before. The riff just popped into my head when I was messing about and I thought why not. Best guitar feeling since I worked out the insanely heavy middle eight of Children of the Grave by Sabbath when I was about 11!
 
Yeah it's a really cool riff. Both the low part and the high lead part.

Another recommendation is the Badge guitar solo. I still have a recording of me playing that (and the arpeggiated backing chords) on my PC.

I think I'd read it somewhere a long time ago but I'd forgotten.

Harrison (credited as L' Angelo Misterioso) originally entitled the song 'Bridge', only for it to be misread by Clapton as 'Badge'.

Layla (referencing an Arabic folktale Layla and Majnun, a Romeo/Juliet story) is the inspiration for Clapton's title. In the Arabic story Majnun falls in love with Layla who is a married woman. At the time Clapton was madly in love with George Harrison's wife Pattie Boyd (also the subject of Clapton's 'Wonderful Tonight').
 
Wasn't she the inspiration for Harrison's/Beatles something as well?

Harrison denied that it was about Pattie Boyd, it was inspired by the deity Krishna. Pattie Boyd claims that Harrison told her that the song was about herself.
 
First trip to the dentist after not going for about 2 and a half years because of Covid. Kept putting it off and putting it off. Apparently me gnashers and gums are in perfect health and to keep on doing what I'm doing.I'm very happy with that.
 
Not a lot at the moment but as a ski Sunday fan of old I really enjoyed Wengen Lauberhorn this morning. Eurosport comes in handy sometimes. Definitely going to watch Kitzbuhel next week.
 
Kitzbuhel is the best sporting atmosphere I've ever experienced. Hopefully not a once in a lifetime experience, but it will stay with me forever. Absolutely beautiful town as well.

I can put up with that, it was thinking he was funny that irked me the most, don't get me wrong he tried his best and that was admirable, but he was TWF's Andy Keogh, lot of effort but ..........
Plus since moving house he seems to be away on holiday every other week !!
