Spurs 0-2 Wolves: Verdict Thread

Fantastic result after the Arsenal disappointment. 4 away wins in a row! I think it's a first for us in the Premier League.
You are correct

Deserved, I think. Wasn't a smash and grab, could've had more...off the top of my head Lloris made a good save from Podence and Davies did very well to close Raul down after Cundle's excellent through ball

Backs to the wall, certainly, but still sometimes thats the way of it. Luckily Sa forgetting he has arms at the end(?!) didn't cost us anything

I am unexpectedly enjoying the schadenfreude over The Artist Formerly Known as 18 year old Ryan Sessegnon quite a lot

I said we'd probably go and beat Spurs in my post on the Arsenal verdict thread. So I take full credit for the win today! My man of the match, Max Kilman! Also, well done Cundle. Could have easily had an assist today with that pass to Jiminez, who should have hit it first time. Bags of potential. Dont fuck this one up Wolves! Only real negative was the amount of times we gave the ball away today but you can't have everything! UTW!
I thought you were going to give donk abit of credit there. A stretch too far perhaps 😉

Could do with Leicester taking points off West Ham today and then we face Leicester next Sunday.
As my wife is an avid Leicester fan I hope so too. I like the quiet life! I certainly think we are very capable of finishing ahead of West Ham in the final table.

Quality pursuing in the first half and abysmal defending on Spurs part have us the win.

Coady, Raul and Neves superb. Donk had a good first half but faded in the second. Plays much better when he does what he's good at.

Semedo not great today which was unusual given his recent good form.

Pleased for Cundle, exceeded my expectations. You could see the pace of the game was something he really wasn't used to but played some nice balls and took up João positions off the ball.

Kilman obviously MotM as all have said,. Just excellent in everything he did today.

Raul looked sharp, as did Trincao and Hwang off the bench.

On a good day I'm not going to pick out the terrible performances.

Decent enough performance - helped by lloris. Not taking anything away from the team.

Some decent performances. The difference between the defences was huge. Coady and kilman both very assured. Coady for what he lacks in pace is a bloody good captain. Constantly taking, setting the line etc.

Podence is infuriating. Offers well, does so many good things but then so many amateur things, losing the ball in dangerous areas at times.

Sa with a huge brain fart. Looks as if he tried to chest it to waste time? Just collect the ball and fall to the floor 🤷‍♂️

Kilman MOTM. Is there a better English centre back in the prem currently?

Get out of February with 4 more points and we will be right in the mix come end of season for top 6, if we collect points where we should.

Villa losing as well helps solidly the top 9/10. Can’t grumble too much

Jimenez didn't seem to offer all that much of an outlet for the most part, would like to see the stats on touches if anyone finds them
Good stuff from Cundle here:

Don't think that really shows what I wanted but if Podence attempted or made as many passes as Jimenez then he must have had the ball at least twice as often because he overlooked the pass and ran into trouble more often than not.

Seemed to be a tactical change to press them high whenever their defenders had the ball and it worked to a tee. Dendoncker was tireless and aggressive all game and Cundle was neat and tidy. Kilman majestic again.

I'm delighted with the three points. Right in the conversation again for European football, although Leicester are doing their best to fuck up any chance of the ultimate prize (well, the ultimate behind the three who are streets ahead)

Didn't see or hear anything re this as was out.

From comments Kilman is still turning into an Int CH, good to see Cundle start & get some positive comments as we need additional capacity in that area & Dendoncker scoring is a real bonus

No. If that fucking lamp post Minge gets in the next England squad ahead of him I give up on football.
I’d probably take mings over Maguire, mind. Saying that my Nan is in the discussion as well

Next England 11 should have Coady and Kilman as the CBs. It won't as "no-look" Maguire will still be picked.

I do know that Southgate has watched several of our games to specifically see what Kilman is about though, so one lives in hope.

Just seen the highlights, Podence deserves a bit of credit for his quick feet in engineering some space for the shot. Not to the detriment of anyone else of course!

Usually you get a shot of Southgate in the stands at games but I’ve not noticed him cropping up at many games recently. I guess the only reason Kilman might be overlooked is because he’s already selecting Coady and generally speaking England play with a back 4. He’s been impeccable this season, though. Very happy for him.

Cundle with 96% pass completion in his debut away at Spurs is some going. Just kept things ticking over and really should have had an assist too but Raul took a touch too many. Well played, lad.

Another who has been out, but fantastic result. Got the points I expected this week in a different order
