Cost of Living

Well you could, that might also be called fraud :)

A lot of energy companies websites not coping with numbers of people doing that / been turned off to stop people doing that

Mine was giving errors earlier. Managed to get it in just now

You can submit later and say it was a reading from 31 March. Of course this country panics at anything so now we have websites crashing to go along with us collectively running out of toilet roll a couple of years ago and having queues for miles at every petrol station last year.

We're all getting screwed but you're not going to get hammered with a ludicrous bill if you don't manage to do it today, even if you were a fair bit late you could argue whatever mitigation you like (I wasn't at home, who are they to know) or you'd say they'd have to make some reasonable attempt to pro-rata it rather than charge everything at the new rate.

And no, you don't need to bother if you have a smart meter, Martin Lewis even said this but no, we'll still have morons clogging up the system when it's already done for them, every minute of every day.

This may be a stupid question - but if I’m on a fixed tariff until August 2023….am I safe from the price rises?

Had to do mine via Twitter as the fucking website has been down all day. They're probably all using the same shitty platform.

floated a new conspiracy theory to a colleague earlier that the price rises are a method to make your home so cold/expensive to heat that it encourages people to return to the office full time to benefit from the employers heating/save money on the home fuel bill.
I wasn't being at all serious, and yet the fecker seems to have believed me!

Ha! Just had a 'wellness' meeting with our team and loads saying company should contribute to energy costs as they are working from home...

I see we are now running low on the petrol/diesel we can't afford because of the Stop Oil people stopping tankers leaving for deliveries.
So we now have panic buying again.

"Sorry kids, no tea tonight got to put 5 litres of diesel in before some other fucker has it"

Really? That's a proper pain as my reserve light has just come on. Stop Oil need to just fuck off.

Ugh, that's why there was a massive queue to get into Sainsburys. Fuel light has just come on too. Ffs.

Shell on the Bridgnorth Road has fuel, if you're willing to pay 199.9p per litre 😔

Could only bring myself to put half a tank in, unlike the prick next to me who filled his car, went in to pay, also bought a Jerry can, then filled that. Selfish twat. I hate this country atm.
