That's the rub. Who's he going to change it for? There's not a goalscorer in the whole squad.

Way too simplistic. We have 8 men and sometimes more behind the ball, that does a a lot to explain both stats

Even with a goal scorer, I don’t really recall any major chances other than our wingbacks? It’s not as if our forwards are missing chances. Only one I can remember is fabio’s pull back just waiting to be tapped in. He issue isn’t as simple as ‘sign a goal scorer and we will be fine’

Also a keeper performing streaks above his XG conceded for example helps make it look meaner

Bruno and the players to blame for various things. Actually played quite well at times in the first half but the front 3 made the wrong decision time after time. Bruno not at fault for that, it’s just the players we have and Neto was worse when he came on.

Bruno struggles to change a game though and makes baffling subs and can’t seem to see what the game needs. 424 definitely wasn’t the answer and neither was letting Hwang and Jimenez get 90 minutes.

He brought on Neto and Trincao. Goalscorers supposedly. He didn't change the wingbacks.

He hasn't any players option wise so he needs to come up with a plan to create more and better goal scoring opportunities. Europe is all but gone now, we have 2 winnable games, plus we need to scrape some points from the top 3 teams. He may as well go with something radical in personnel and tactics, nothing to lose. If that means trying 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3 and we're shit, at least it might tell us where we need to strengthen.

We do, and as someone else said the keepers stats are relevant. All of this doesn't mean a shit if we can't score even one goal. Which has been the case on more than one occasion.

I know he hasn't, which leads me to the question again. Who you putting on the pitch today and against Newcastle to score. Unless we are going 1-1-8 i don't see tactically how you are scoring if everyone you play upfront has more chance of hitting it for a throw in than in the net.

I am getting less and less convinced by Lage as the season approaches its end, and would shed no tears if he were replaced….by someone progressive and proactive.

Spiers has confirmed the lost 14 out of 15 where we’ve conceded first stat, and the Villa one was a total freak. That is a total shambles of a stat.

Keeps playing this novlety 4-2-4 though that no one knows what they are doing in.

But a goalscorer doesn’t necessarily change that, unless the said goalscorer is going to create chances for himself?

If you put a prime Van Nistleroy in that team he isn’t having chances created for him

Chances were created by both wing backs. There was no one to finish them. 9 defeats by 1-0 this season. Maybe if we could score that stat might be different.

The 3 forwards are supposed to create chances for each other. But 2 of them were awful. Raul on his heels all the time, poor decisions. Had a very presentable chance first half on his left where any decent contact is probably a goal but he scuffs it.
