Chelsea 2-2 Wolves: Verdict Thread

It shouldn't take a formation change to get that type of football in reality. For whatever reason the players just aren't confident enough to push themselves into certain positions from the 343 or 352 though.

I think you put too much emphasis on the players and not enough on the management tbh. That is literally his job

I was out Marvelling at Dr Strange today so missed the game entirely. Sounds like an interesting second half.

Did we switch to 4 at the back at some point then?

I'm fairly sure Boly and Coady isn't a 2 you can build a PL side on, but we saw what happens if you put more men higher up the pitch. Whoever is manager (it'll be Lage) we have to play 4 at the back next year and get the players to do so
Boly and Kilman might at a push. We'd have to spend the Neves cash on a CB though you're right.

Kilman should have first dibs, IMO

We've seen the same with these players prior to this manager though. They've never displayed great movement or an ability to breakdown a disciplined defence. They're at their best being organised, resolute and punching on the counter when there is lots of space to exploit.

There's never been anythjng to spot the central midfield playing 15 yards higher and the wide forwards 10 yards narrower when dominating the ball but it just doesn't happen. They don't ever seem to want to put themselves in those tight spaces where they can link, they go deep or wide to find big safe spaces where they become isolated.

Incidentally, while it's dumb from Saiss, I don't think it's really a foul and it's not in the box either. So that's four nonsense penalties against us this season even when we have VAR.

Sa is never ever going to save one either. Worse than Peter Shilton in Italia 90.

I didn't think it was a penalty either, to be honest I though Lukaku had pushed him over at first and we should have had a free kick. Not sure if he just slipped though.

I mean that didn't trip Lukaku over, did it. It's a dive.

The second goal is absolutely shit, terrible pass by Coady.

Getting sick of the arsehole penalties given against us yet we never get one given and as much as I like Sa, have no expectation of him to save any of them

Sky are showing the full game Chelsea v Wolves as their Game of the Day on 402 at 8:30 pm today.
So must have been a good game with Wolves up against a very expensive squad away from home. I look forward to it.

Yet to see it but one pundit suggested it might even have been a foul by Lukaku.

I was very disappointed by the Brighton result but Brighton are playing well again tonight. Good to see us respond so well at Chelsea where our historical results have been dire - especially when I went to watch!

Watched this on some dodgy stream from an American tv channel. Very exciting second half. We defo deserved at least a draw.

Just read that Chiquinho is now joint first for us this season in assists. That can’t be right, surely?
