It's actually 225,000 but he's failing to realise that the wider catchment area is much bigger than that. We have supporters in paces like Codsall, Tipton and Wombourne as well as the likes of Cannock and Telford.
He knows, he just doesn't care. It's clear he only has 2 real kpi's from Fosun - stay in the PL and build the brand internationally. Local fans are of no interest unless gaps start appearing in the stands, which he's convinced himself won't happen at the moment with his fictional 10k waiting list

The average probably was £24 they had some form of offer on for pretty much the whole 2nd half of the season maybe longer.
Yeah I get that, but surely he can see that to slash the proces to shift product it had to be overpriced to begin with. Weren't they £55 to start off with? I don't see how that falls in line with his 'Holy triumvirate' when it comes to owning the whole supply chain/distribution on replica kit.

Watched a couple more. Was no point in Sellars doing one, really. Wasn’t pushed hard enough on key subjects and just gave sound bites rather than genuine insight on the couple of interesting bits. No wonder it was binned off after 10 minutes.

Would have loved Shi or Sellars to have been pushed properly on Hwang and If the decision to make that signing permanent so early was because of the commercial impact abroad rather than his football ability - but they’d have swerved the question anyway, I’m sure. Plus I think these were recorded before his monstrosity of a performance v Liverpool.

I will say, despite dressing like a golf obsessed grandpa, Matt Wild came across better than any of the others (so far).

Sellars looked like he was doing the interview in dressing gown/housecoat, pyjamas and slippers

Okay, so I’ve listened to them all now because I’m a sad bastard.

Clearly we are in that bracket now with Southampton, Brighton, Palace, Brentford and possibly Leeds and Everton were we have to live within our means. If you’d told me that ten years ago after already four seasons in the top flight I’d have been very happy. And it’s not really a problem now if the product on the pitch was better and we were being run in a sustainable way on the pitch as well as off the pitch like they are all claiming. But not a single person even remotely hinted at the idea that we were in a somewhat false league position or stated that we need to improve just to stand still which worries me.

Jones, Clark and Shi just came across as very complacent. Really concerning imo. None of them acknowledged that for all the talk of the long term brand stuff to create a higher ceiling for us, that we have to make sure we’re still in the top flight.

Jackson and wild came across fine (as did Nicholls and Hunter-Barrett from the academy). Sellars and Lage were the first two for a reason. No interesting insights at all and like Jinky said you can see why Sellars was only ten minutes long for that reason.

I don’t think we’re staring down the barrel of relegation but plenty of clubs have had decent stints in the league and become complacent/badly managed and it quickly costs them. Think the transfer business this summer will be important but the sale of Neves for 45-50m plus money for MGW, Vinagre and possibly Jonny/Podence gives us enough to reshape the squad. Concerned by recent recruitment strategies but think it’s still obvious where we need signings and now we are actually forced into improving those positions with key departures.

But overall, nothing that we hadn’t already worked out but it hasn’t given me any confidence in the individual running the club

It would appear to be a level below that. Profit isn't going into the team, just player sales

Possibly. I reckon we’ll need to spend slightly over that this summer anyway due to the amount of change (if required). They will try to penny pinch where possible

We’re gonna end up needing a CB, two CMs, possibly a wing back and a winger/forward (maybe two). Probably gonna require at least 80/90m but then Neves, MGW and Traore will give us near that I guess.

I genuinely don't think Jeff gives a shit who we buy as long as we don't go down.

The bloke's a complete cunt.

Agreed. I don’t understand the point of these videos when it’s just a load of backslapping and telling us how fantastic things are, as if we’re stupid. It’s extremely patronising.

We’d appreciate them a lot more if they were genuine and actually honest about some of the mistakes made. It takes a big man to admit when you’re wrong, and JP had to literally coax Shi in to admitting he’d chatted nonsense when he said we could get on to the same level as Man City.

These videos will not have helped the relationship between Shi & co and the fans one bit.

It's the Chinese way of PR.

They think they can put out anything and people will have to believe it. Of course the UK has a healthy level of cynicism and can look straight through the bullshit.

Interesting how many people watched the videos rather than read the transcript. I appreciate it gives greater context, but it's a lot of time investment

I listened as podcasts on my phone. Managed to fit them all in my walk to work and back

On the 200k fans can Manchester United’s 100m can’t he see that 99% of those United fans are simply glory hunters? If United had never won anything much, there wouldn’t be 100m of them. They certainly didn’t acquire those fans by playing 3rd Korean strikers who buy cookies.

And as for his strategy of staying in the prem and using that to push e-sports, every time a club gets taken over like Newcastle then we drop a place in the pecking order. As soon as there are 20 richer clubs we are down forever.

I don’t mind him not knowing what he’s doing and I don’t mind him patronising but to do both continuously is getting me fairly annoyed!

I find the Wolves twitterati really interesting. There’s one ‘wolves till I die’ twitter obsessive who sits near me - leaves on 78mins every game without fail.

'The fact Shi wasn’t sure which team Phillips was referring to when discussing investment in the squad reaffirms that'

Fuck me, is Jeff serious!?
