Summer 2022 Transfer Window

Madeley has been getting bugged by Wolves fans on pretty much every SM post to do something on our transfer targets etc, so he has, but he’s told us nothing we don’t already know.

- Interested in Nunes/Fernandez but both unlikely, particularly if Neves/Moutinho stay, which looks increasingly likely
- Moutinho is now a free agent but we’re “confident” he’ll sign
- we’ll sell Donk if someone shows interest because he could go for free next year
Madeley isn't going to break 'exclusives'.

The nature of his job means he has to stay close the club and not annoy them. No access means nothing to write about, The Athletic works on the basis that they can get an inside view rather than be a Waitrose Alan Nixon.

I did enjoy this bit of analysis from him, with the arrow from the Silva article 🤣

If Madeley has the same information as Spiers then his 'no's' to transfer rumours will be accurate as opposed to breaking them himself. Tim II was always reliable where that was concerned

With Fernandez it makes me a bit optimistic that we seem to be identifying good players (with a process that isn't solely 'ask Uncle Jorge') so hopefully we can replicate that with some others in key positions

It’s pretty easy to be accurate when saying ‘no’ to wolves transfers are concerned. I think we could all nail that one.

What are the odds on us buying a Benfica cast off for about the same amount they'll be spending on Enzo

Shabani training with Grasshoppers

Looks like we’re becoming the mugs who are used to generate interest in players who have absolutely no interest in joining us. Either the club are interested and are hoping against hope the player changes his mind or we’re happy to be associated with such players as the club think it boosts their profile. Nobody seems to have changed their mind since Boly so perhaps it’s time to concentrate on more realistic targets.

Cutrone. That went well.

Maybe if we didn't have a total nobody managing the team that might help.

The best bit was him calling a towering header ‘trademark Silva.’ I actually rate the kid but heading is definitely not one of his strengths, seen 10 year olds with better timing.

Edit: Just seen Del Woppio beat me to this particular gem.

Caught up with the thread & after being called out by Paddy yesterday, could help but laugh that I appear to fall in with the majority when it comes to the general feeling towards our owners and the business, or complete lack of, that we’re doing.

Don’t forget, “you can only judge them when the window is closed”, though. Rinse/repeat.

I actually think we’ll end up keeping Neves and there will be one, two if we’re lucky, signings of a Chiquinho/Mosquera level i.e. young, cheap, raw etc. I reckon we’ll kick off the season with a similar looking side to the one that finished last season, and I suspect we’ll be floating in/around the relegation positions by the time we break up for the World Cup. We live in hope, but I think they’ve fucked it.

Just real amateurs when comes to getting deals done I’m afraid and as DW says having a head coach with zero charisma, very little background doesn’t help at all.

We really MUST be signing some players, we’ll struggle to put a matchday squad out soon.
