New - The things that really annoy you

I have to have two wisdom teeth out soon. Both are worn away to buggery so will need to go under anaesthetic and have the NHS hack away at the gums to get them out. Not looking forwards to that.

Last one I had out the NHS had to refer me to Nuffield Heath in Derby due to long waiting lists, and that went like an absolute breeze.
I live 2 mins from there, you should have come round for a cup of tea

Root canal treatment ☹️
I had it on one of my front teeth years ago, I was in absolute agony and they reckoned I'd had a severe blow to the face to cause enough damage to create a void above my tooth where I kept getting abscesses. I hadn't but that's by the by. They numbed my gum and drilled it all out and plopped a temporary filling in, no drama. I went back for them to finish the work and she told me she wasn't going to anesthetise as the tooth was dead and I shouldn't feel anything, if I did let her know and she'd numb the area up.

She went to work for ages and I didn't feel a thing, I genuinely could have fallen asleep if my jaw wasn't killing for keeping my gob open for so long. Don't worry about it, walk in the park mate.

I had that too, but it hurt like fuck. Felt like she was pulling the tooth out by the root.

She either did a really good on me then or it really is true where there's no sense...

Putting on your series link of Sherwood to find it got moved in favour of a washed up tennis player

Less than 100 yards from our house:

Inside San Antonio city limits everyone gets a weekly rubbish pickup for which they are charged. Outside of the city there is no legal requirement to have this service, so a lot of people just dump their trash instead. This rubbish was dumped in the local equivalent of Low Hill. We are in the next estate, but can literally see this spot from our back door.

Been rough for about 6 days, very flu-like, aching muscles, aching joints, tired, just so very, very tired. Has to be Covid right? Tests all negative. Tiredness gets worse, at times just completely knackered doing nothing. Even jaw and gums start aching. Something odd going on. Tests still negative.

Late last night the Mrs notices a large circular rash on one of my butt cheeks, a bit of a corker. Hmmm, that doesn’t look right at all.

Phone the surgery first thing, straight in, bloody hell, Lyme disease! One of the dog-walking neighbours told me a little while ago the common is infested with ticks and to watch out for the dog but didn’t bank on getting bitten by one of the bastards myself. Not all bites result in Lyme disease apparently but when they do you know about it. Fingers crossed it’s been caught early and have dodged a bullet with no long term damage done. Reading a bit about it it can be bad news if untreated.

Bloody hell, Covid, root canals, Lyme’s, we’re all falling apart.

EBay twats bidding the item up by being top bidder then withdrawing it telling eBay that he’s had his account hacked, all because I wouldn’t tell him the reserve price on a bike I’m selling.
I’ve told ebay he’s being a twat and what he’s doing, heard nothing yet

Haven't sold anything on ebay for ages, got burned last time, they only care about the buyer not the seller.

Get that treated ASAP. Its made a fair few colleagues over the years very ill.

Yes indeed, thanks, was right on it - 3 week course of Amoxicillin.

To be honest am mightily relieved to have been diagnosed properly. Reading about the long term ramifications if undiagnosed are really quite scary. I don’t envy your colleagues at all.

I got lucky (?) because the alarm bells were already ringing - it’s an area well known for ticks (although hadn’t heard anything about infected ones and the consequent disease), but with the rash also. I’ll spare you the sight of my backside but that’s a pretty clear identifier. By no means everyone with Lyme gets the rash and without those indicators diagnosis is very difficult indeed and you’ve got trouble ahead.

Does appear you can catch it more than once and would definitely get flu-like symptoms checked out properly in future (rash or no rash), but for the moment let’s deal with one thing at a time.

EBay twats again, bloke won a bike I’m selling, hasn’t paid, sent two reminders, 10 days later heard nothing, cancelled his order, told ebay, relisted bike, and now he’s moaning I’m selling his bike!

It appears I need an International Driving Permit to go to France in a few weeks time. Apparently my old paper licence isn't sufficient any more, even backed up with my passport. I'm assuming this is another 'benefit' of brexit. Proper pita, not to mention cost. 😡.
I realise this a very minor annoyance to most but it's irritated me more than it probably should.
