Unless I've missed an injury, Moeen only bowling the 1 over is a strange decision. It's not like 3 of the seamers bowled well

one over for 4 runs and a wicket, whereas Rashid bowls 4 overs for 33 runs and wicketless again.

Roy bats another 3 overs at less than a run per ball. I understand why they've kept with him, but he has to get into form in the hundred. It's painful to watch

Destroyed, we have issues that look beyond a blip. Batsmen who are slogging leading to eventual dismissal and bowlers who don't put it together as a unit, whilst the best remain injured. Everyone knew the power of Morgan as a captain, but was it even greater than we thought?

Jamie Overton added to the broken genuine quick bowlers list

Alice Capsey made a 50 in the Commonwealth Games today. Born a year after Jimmy Anderson started and Darren Gough stopped playing Test cricket.

Meanwhile Bairstow has pulled out of the 16.4 Overs. I just don't see how they make that work, the schedule doesn't allow for it.

If only there was an existing competition that was actually cricket that they could have lavished all this attention and marketing money on...

16.4 ovs propaganda unit Auntie Beeb seems to be avoiding the news, having merely quietly removed Bairstow from their list of batters to watch..

Parking personal cynicism of it to one side re the County impact, they aren't getting the world stars and now not the England ones, so it's not delivering what it was supposed to on that front

They did once (and I think it was Strauss, so doubly disappointing) push the argument that it didn't matter if Ben Stokes and Joe Root didn't play many/any games in it because mums and kids didn't know who they were to start with.

It's not much of an argument.

It's not for cricket fans. Which is handy, because it's not cricket...

BBC has also got an article about the County Alternative to the 16.4 ovs, which is apparently the County One-day championship. Whole purpose of the article seems to be to slag it by pointing out how many players are missing at the 16.4 ovs and that this will make it sub-standard.

Absolute cuntery.

Same as last year, I shall never EVER watch even a single delivery of the 16.4 ovs. It is fuck all to do with cricket.

Did I? Only if it was on in a room I was in in a pub or something. Certainly didn't put it on my telly.

Presume the evidence has been deleted in Vis' great thread purge but on the old cricket thread you mentioned watching a few minutes of one of the opening games...then went into an unexpected rant about it

Ollie Robinson recalled by Englands test team to replace Jamie Overton.
