Bolton Wanderers are staying with us at the moment as they are in Dublin for their Xmas party. This morning David Wheater, Alex Baptiste, Chris Eagles, Jay Spearing and the goalie Bogdan came down for breakfast and started slamming bucks fizz at 10am. They were all in costumes, Eagles was Jack Sparrow, Wheater was Rambo, Baptiste was Ali G. The costumes were brilliant in fairness and certainly got the other guests talking. A weirdly funny moment happened when an American girl in a cloche hat came and sat down across from them. David Wheater stood up and said - " Ere love, I've got a tattoo o you." Everyone thought it was a shit chat up line until he rolled up his sleeve and had an exact replica of the girl, a blonde in a black cloche hat. Weird. I'd say they are on the piss now bigtime, as they all had 5 rounds of bucks fizz before they even left.

I had a mate staying with me over the weekend who's into his music so I showed him Stanley Road in Woking, of Paul Weller fame, which is just round the corner from where I work. The following day, we were on the motorway and were passing a Jag with the number plate III Mod. It looked like it was being driven by some grey haired old boy so, cutting-edge comedy god that I am, I shouted out that it was Paul Weller. And then it turned out that it was.

Did you look at eachother and say - 'that's weird!'?

Three part drama 'The Widower' started on ITV Monday night. I'm an 'extra' in it at a fishing club on a loch in Oban (actually it was filmed at Lough Dan in Wicklow).
and Frank Berry, JP McManus' racing manager bought some binoculars from me for Cheltenham.

So weird...

I'm spending a bit of time up at a hide in the middle of a field studying Red Kites as part of my degree. It's run by the RSPB so you get loads of bird watchers come through to watch them feed, usually pensioners and school kids. Today, Danny Dyer turned up. Danny Dyer. Birdwatching. So surreal.

Pwapper nawty.

I think that must be where the Man United and Bayern Munich fans are meeting for a dust up.

:icon_lol:

There were a couple of pensioners there who obviously didn't know who he was but we made eye contact when he first came in and he looked quite embarrassed that I recognised him. So awkward. He just sat there with his binoculars not saying a word.

This thread being bumped has just reminded me of one of the greatest posts I've ever read on this forum:

I split open a large prawn as part of my starter at Langans in Mayfair and the contents of its head shot over my shoulder and into Lorraine Kelly's hair

:icon_lol:

Still makes me laugh.

Only Paddy eh?

Perhaps Danny's researching for his new programme 'Danny Dyer's Deadliest Raptors'? - 'See this sparra'awk? He's a nasty little blighter an' make no mistake: faster than Usain Bolt wiv da trots with talons like fackin' knives; if I was a pidgin I'd be keepin' my ed daahn, knoworramean?'

I beat Tony 'Bomber' Brown at bowls at Wednesbury Park in 1970!

I'm like a shit celebrity magnet these days. I bumped into Neil Oliver in M&S yesterday. His hair is glorious.

Man that Danny Dyer thing has just cracked me up. I love that. Quality haha.

I spoke to Stuart Broad AND Gareth Bale today! And at my Paddy Power job, not the 5 star hotel, which made it even more cool!

Stuart Broad came on this morning looking to update his card details, at first I thought it was someone else, until i went through his account, saw he lived in Nottingham, and was born in 86, so I put him on hold and did a quick google and everything matched, so I said to him - "you wouldnt be a cricket fan by any chance would you?", he laughed and we had a quick chat. Lovely lovely guy! Was saying he's getting everything in order after being away for so long so needed to update his credit card as he wanted to stick some bets on the Masters. He tipped Kuchar!

Then after lunch I got a call from a Welsh guy, soon as he said his account name I knew it was Gareth Bale. he was on querying why his account had been suspended, There was a Flag on it stating that he had accessed it from a foreign IP address, i asked was he on holidays and he said he now lives in Spain. Informed him that PP does not have a license for gambling in Spain so he would need to send us in full docs proving he lives in the UK in order to reopen the account. He wasn't happy as he was also looking to have a few bets on the Masters.

Worthy of a double post IMO

What a race for the title. Its been an exciting season and congratulations to LJ for his first GOS title, commiserations to Doog pipped by a point. Well done on Darlo getting so close as well, I think he missed 3 weeks that could have got him challenging for the title.

Thank you for playing again this season, we'll be back again in August. Hopefully I can get another 5 or so interested as well...
:)

God, he's going to be unbearable :)

I met Sue Pollard at the weekend, though I am not sure if that is a claim to fame....
