    Hi. I saw you have had a battery fitted to make most of solar. Could you give me some idea how much it cost? We’ve had solar panels for a good while and previously had an Immersun which directed excess energy to immersion heater but no longer have it so was thinking of a battery. Amy information gratefully received.

    I had a quote a couple of months ago and I wanted a decent battery to store my unused power. a 5kw Battery was quoted at €5,300.
    Guaranteed 10 years at 100%, after that, efficiency falls away.
    Lots of discussions now whether you actually need a battery at all...

    Got to save a lot of your solar to cover the cost.

    batteries cost £7300. got 6kwh solar. Yet to see the full effect as only recently fitted. The hope is that we can store enough solar to run the heat pump through the night, in the winter, with the help of some low rate elecs. Heat pump cost £14700 but had a grant for 14k. Previously was on LPG and was costing £400pm in the winter so we save that amount
