Summer 2021 transfer window

Darwin was linked with Man City wasn’t he?

Brighton I think. He started off okay but then fizzled off last season. Luca Waldschmidt & Gonçalo Ramos the only 2 I'd be interested in on that list.

Obviously starved of facts over here and desperately trying to avoid the rumours as no shite in the newspapers, what are the chances of Neves leaving us?
Seems like Utd are in line 1st but is that just click bait from the press?

Nothing will happen with United unless they sell Pogba.

Arsenal are keeping Xhaka so no go there either.

No-one else has been linked to him even semi-credibly.

Just got a horrible feeling that our business is done. Could be miles off the mark, but the season is creeping up on us and it’s eerily quiet.

Would have to say, if we don’t bring in anyone else then Bruno has been hung out to dry before he’s even started. He’ll have made it clear what kind of system he wants to play in the job interviews - and he’d have made it clear what kind of players we need in order to play it. Currently, Jeff & co have let him down badly - and it’s another failure of a window, as it stands.

Obviously we could sign a couple of world beaters next week - but I just don’t see it. The “massive squad overhaul” we were expecting doesn’t look like happening.

Unfortunately there’s nothing we can do than sit and wait.

I’m fine with a bit of midtable stagnation as long as it’s entertaining football. Could not take another year like last year though.

Only problem with midtable stagnation with no desire to invest and progress then eventually everyone gets bored or you fuck it up and potentially go down.

My guess is there will be 2-3 further signings. Wouldn't surprise me if they came in very close to the deadline.

It's a weird summer, some teams haven't even been linked with a player yet let alone signed one - we have actually done more business than over half of the league. I think we will get 2 or 3 more in and 1 or 2 will go out but it's going to all happen late this year.

Tbf Jeff and co did say it would be a late window and with another month to go it's too early to put the boot in on that. It is frustrating that we haven't addressed our 2 biggest needs though, with 3 tough games to start with.

My biggest worry is that sell to buy is real and nobody wants to buy at a level that would make sense and this is broadly the squad we have for the season

Not saying for sure we're going to sign someone or not, but lack of media gossip is traditionally not a sign of anything regarding our transfer activity. Our history under Fosun is littered with us signing players without us hearing a scrap about it until the last possible minute.

I'm not sure I need stats to tell me what kind of player Adama is. He likes to be given the ball and then he runs with it. I have rarely, seen him make runs "off the ball" and that frustrates me. The one notable time he did was to receive a free kick from Moutinho and set up a goal for Raul. I thought "finally, he gets it. Now we'll see his game develop"... Nah, didn't happen. Next game he was back to standing around asking for the ball to feet and not looking to get behind the full back. If he sorted that side of his game out he would be fantastic
Pretty much bang on - he really feels like the definitive 'luxury player' to me.

How such a Spursy player has not already been reunited with Nuno at Tottenham is beyond me.
