Summer 2021 transfer window

We need the cunning City £400m stadium sponsorship from an airline losing billions a year. Which is really likely.

"In addition, Wolves have agreed to report "a maximum break-even deficit of €30m (£27.1m) in the financial year ending in 2020 and to finally reach, in the 2021/22 season, an aggregate break-even result for the financial years ending in 2019, 2020 and 2021".

We need to break even the end of this season right?

£20m profit in 2019
£40m loss in 2020
£20m profit required in 2021
therefore breakeven in 2022

Is that roughly what we need to do?
We would have reported another £20m profit for 2020 without COVID. There is £60m waiting to be added to the 2021 accounts relating to prize and tv money. We've made significant profits off the back of two large summer investments and the biggest wage bill we've ever had. Whilst we are limited to some degree by the FFP judgment, the notion that we have to sell to buy is bollocks.

I know they’re losing Grealish but Villa making us look like absolute mugs in the transfer market, 3 top quality signings that improve the first 11 straight away.

Wait and see. Calling is mugs is nonsense. Villa have done well there but how does it make us mugs?

no portuguese players available maybe at the moment

Just in terms of how we keep spouting how hard it is to sign players and how we can’t afford to do anything. Season starts in 9 days and we’re still nowhere near having a good enough squad

Gotta love the eSports stuff... "appealing to younger demographics" while simultaneously increasing U21 season ticket prices by - realistically - a minimum of 63% in just four years (£249 for 18/19 to £407 for 2022/23)
I know it’s small beans in real terms but my kids season tickets have gone up by 300% since promotion.

Ings signing pushes Watkins wide I think, or they will be rotated. Can't see them playing two strikers with Buendia in their team (a signing I rate).

As I said, don't rate the back four at all. In fact, I'd take ours over theirs bar Konsa for Coady in a four.

To put that into perspective, they've bought Ings, Bailey and Buendia for about the same money as Grealish.

We bought Fabio Silva and Nelson Semedo for Doc and Jota money.

We look like mugs

You saying Fabio wasn't worth what we paid?

🤣

Just watching Chelsea v Spurs, Trevor Chalobah is playing on the right of their back three, very comfortable on the ball and seems very mobile. Did well in Ligue Un last season I believe, wonder if he is on our radar. Guess unlikely we loan from another Prem team

Kind of ruins the concept that we'd only get pennies for Adama this time next year if he's still here but not signed a new deal. As you can see, it seriously doesn't matter anywhere near as much these days, it did 15-20 years ago.

Also we aren't "massive in Mexico" Raul Jimenez is, when he is gone there will be very minimal interest retained in Wolves in Mexico unless we start getting success on the pitch.
When Raul goes there will be very little interest in wolves regardless of how well we do.

We won't be drumming up new fans if we finish 7th rather than 13th. Even qualifying for CL isn't going to create huge numbers of fans.

The club recognise Raul for his marketing pull and are exploiting it. Whatever they say I don't believe they really think we'll maintain a presence in Mexico once Raul leaves. But right now he is here, and he is an asset on and off the pitch.

No we don’t. That’s your incredibly tedious anti Fabio agenda speaking to you again.

You are the one who said Wolves are big in Mexico. I just corrected that. Jimenez is why there is any interest from Mexico at all nothing to do with Wolves other than the fact he currently plays for us, once he leaves or retires, nobody there cares about Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Yes, that's what I'm saying. Wolves have a presence in Mexico through Jimenez. You seem to be saying it too.

They just got £100m effectively in. That is a difference.

This. We'd be the same had we sold Traore or Neves, it would kick off a flurry of activity - except we'd be moaning we'd just lost one of those two, just as they are Grealish.

They're doing good bits but don't underestimate what a huge loss Grealish is to them.
