Things that make you SAD thread.

As far as I know the only person who’s blocked me. Couldn’t handle me pointing out that having a guy who beats his pregnant girlfriend write your leading stories is morally dodgy.

Rod Liddle?

Also a man who was openly racist on a Millwall forum many times, tried denying it and when he was conclusively outed, refused to apologise.

Liddle also posted how he couldn’t be a teacher because he’d start shagging the students (and really young ones at that too), right?

I won't read the article, and no one is above criticism, but really Marcus Rashford. You can question many things but this guy is 100% genuine in his motives.

Hes been at the bottom and still remembers what it's like, he wants to make sure that there's someone there giving support for the little boy he once was.

Don't see many Spectator writers on that list.

Dave Gilmour did alright for himself.

Looking at some of those causes, I mean are you telling me Lord Sainsbury doesn't see any of that come back to him? Half of these are supporting the arts, not exactly the first thing that springs to mind when you think of charitable giving.

I read that post and then looked up cynical in the dictionary, it said "believing that people are motivated purely by self-interest; distrustful of human sincerity or integrity." spooky !!
Not just ignoring the fact that the people that donated to 'arts' also donated to education, community and humanitarian causes ???

This didn’t really make me sad but this thread seemed the most appropriate place:

I’m currently training to become a driving instructor, part two of the process is passing the ADI driving test. As practice I went out today with a tutor who told me I’d probably committed 3-4 minor faults inside the first 5 minutes of driving: to pass the ADI test you drive for an hour and are allowed 6 minor faults in that time! Gulp! I thought I was a decent driver! 😂😂

I'm not sure I'd pass a test nowadays. Too many ingrained habits in the last 25 odd years. Plus a few of the rules/procedures nowadays don't make 100% common sense.

Just read post #1, when I started this thread about Dave the Dog.
A few years ago in the attic I found a box full of receipts. Vets receipts.
Now don't get me wrong, vets do a great job, no question, but I have to wonder about their fees...
Dave was insured thank God (and fucking annoyingly once he got over 10 years of age their cover dropped from 100% go 70%. What sort of a trick is that? He's entering the age that I'm gonna need the insurance....but anyway) so I took the receipts and added them up.
Given all the skin type shit you get with Westies, given that he had diabetes, given that the little bastard used to eat dead stuff on the beach and fox shit in the grass which used to throw his pancreas into a swollen panic then we reached the lens in his eye, blah blah blah, the total came to a stunning €13,000!!!
We could have had a decent 2nd hand Volvo for that!
Jesus!

Looking very much like Im going to have to wear glasses for a large proportion now....

why does that make you sad quirk?
have to wear glasses for the majority of my waking hours. personally am very relieved and happy about the benefits to my vision.

Aye, I quite like wearing glasses. Plus if someone is annoying the shit out of me I can take them off and pretend they are not there.

Selective editing of quote posts is also a bad look ;)
