Expensive holiday thenšŸ˜ƒ
Mate of mine races in the IOM (manxgp) and doesn't count the 2-3 weeks as holiday either
You got it. Racing like that is not a holiday in any way. It's constant work from the moment you get there to the moment you leave. Doing it with a car is so much more work.
Getting back to real work is easier..

We've got a different view of work.....work is by its nature dull and stressful, racing and stuff like that is fun (if tough) but doesn't count as work imo

You have to experience it to understand. Racing with not too much work involved is fun i agree. If however there is 18 months worth of work to get a few minutes of racing then it becomes not fun.
If (like me) you are chasing world records then it gets to a point where the work involved negates any "fun" you have. Which is why i retired from it all. 10 years worth of chasing mentally and physically kills you if you are working a job as well.
Don't get me wrong. Breaking the record twice (and still holding the speed side after 2 years) was incredible. The buzz didn't last long enough to carry on.

Never took 2 weeks holiday (apart from racing abroad which isn't a holiday!) in my whole life, but i guess being self employed doesn't help that situation.
Sounds like hell to me too..

It depends on your point of view, if the ship doesn't have Wifi or internet and football talk is banned, I can imagine having two weeks away from being a Wolves fan could be quite nice right about now!

"Captain only take the boat in when Wolves score their next league goal..."

It would be easier and cheaper just to switch off the computer/phone for that...... ;)

Is anyone else starting to find it grating the number of emails we're getting from the club trying to take our money? I've changed my preferences on emails to only receive ticketing and team news info, but still seem to get at least one email per day containing some new and ingenious request for me to give the club my cash.

After an off-season of next to zero investment in the team or stadium, coupled with the hike in ticket prices, I doubt I'm the only one who feels like goodwill is being stretched here.

It's borderline spam.

The club is going to shit at the moment.
