Atkinson clearly was hoping the VAR official would find a reason to disallow it. As soon as it was clear he hadn’t blown the goal had to stand.

Disallowing it means going against the rules, some Man Utd think Arsenal should have let them walk a goal in. Bollocks Man Utd stopped playing and Arsenal didn’t.

He’s grazed his ankle. Yeah, hurts a bit but doesn’t render your foot unusable. You just cannot go down (unless your legitimately seriously injured) when the balls on the edge of your area. I’d say that for any player, but definitely defenders and GKs.

It’s basically just a form of cheating and was rightly punished.
