A New Venture

Definitely a niche market then.
I suppose it definitely has a market, but I think quiz shows, pub quizzes and quiz games have quite a wide appeal. I'd say our game would be in the same bracket as Trivial Pursuit, but without sounding insane, we think, and people who have play tested it for us, have said it's better. In Trivial Pursuit if you're playing with a couple of people who are good you can be sitting for ages getting bored before you get a turn. In Strong Point you're involved even if it's not your go.

Hope you do well buddy.

After receiving a sample of our game, we have made a couple of minor tweaks and now the first units are in production. We should have some ready for sale very soon. After some teething troubles owing to a conflict between our Wix server and our Google server, those have been sorted and both the desktop and mobile versions of our website are running smoothly. Our Facebook, Instagram and Twitter pages are also up and running, so search for Strong Point Games Ltd to find, like and follow us. And email us to get yourself a notification of the release date.

The finished product is of a very good quality, we are very pleased with it, and also proud of the fact that it has been made using manufacturers in the North of England, mostly a print company near to Oldham, with some components made in Morpeth. It'd make a great post Christmas Dinner game, and is compact enough to take and play anywhere.

If anyone is interested in purchasing our game, it is now available directly through our website. We were originally going to sell it through Amazon, and we still will be, but after facing interminable delays with them receiving the first batch of stock we sent them, we decided to create an ecommerce platform via our website and fulfil orders ourselves. It has been a tough couple of weeks getting all of our ducks in a row but we opened up for sales to people who requested release notifications on Saturday and have been selling steadily since then. It is now available generally.

Just go to www.strongpointgame.co.uk/shop and click on the picture to take you to your 'add to cart' page.

Thank you to someone off here who did request sales notification and purchased over the weekend, it has been shipped today!

I think I will order one as a Christmas present if you think you are going to be up and running for that market. We have a tradition of always ordering a board game or card game each Christmas so I would rather give you guys the bizz.

Good luck with what sounds like a very exciting new step.
Just alerting you to it's availability now Paddy.

Thank you. What is the likely delivery time as I could do without spending too much this side of payday?

After placing an order, a day or 2 to prepare for shipment, be picked up by the carrier and we are generally using 2 day delivery so all in all probably 4 days after order.

As from now our game is available to buy from Amazon, follow the link if you are interested:

I just listed: Strong Point - A Trivia Game - It’s Not Just What You Know... It’s Who Knows What You Know, for £24.99 via @amazon https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B09LJZRXB9/ref=cx_skuctr_share?smid=A7KJ084ZN4VP6

How does the Amazon listing work. Do you have to pay to list it or a commission for each sale. I'm considering purchasing but would prefer that all funds went to you rather than Bezos take a cut.

It basically works out that they take a fee for storage, packaging and shipping, which has been factored into the selling price. Amazon is slightly more expensive in terms of fulfillment than doing it ourselves but it is much more convenient until we get really established. Ideally we would prefer to sell through our own online store and in shops like Waterstones etc, but realistically we can't ignore Amazon. Once we have sales and positive reviews on Amazon then it will be worth the fee in terms of additional sales generated.

If you want to avoid Amazon you can get it here:

www.strongpointgame.co.uk/shop and we'll fulfill it through sendcloud.

Just received my copy. Hopefully it will make the recipient at Christmas very happy. Initial look at the box it’s really well put together and looks very professional.

Thanks for the feedback. We think we have created a quality product, it certainly doesn't look like a cheap and cheerful game. And feedback so far on playing the game is really positive.

Sorry if you're all getting bored with me about the game now! We were asked by a local business support/advice service to take part in a local Christmas Market ( if anyone knows Newcastle and has ever been to The Cluny, it was next door) and so did our first attempt at non online selling. We sold 30 games in the 5 hours it was open, exceeding our expectations. We are down to single figures in stock on Amazon and are almost selling stock faster than our manufacturers can make it at the moment!

Bought one on Amazon just, looking forward to getting it out over Christmas.

Mine arrived today.
Disappointed that the discount code Dendoncker Rocks didn’t work.
