Wolves 0-1 Liverpool: Verdict Thread

If he's gone for sure, I wish we wouldn't start him anymore.

It's a difficult one because there was a 5 minute spell when he scared the shit out of them, when they started kicking him. That was our best 5 minute spell of the game. Allison was standing 10/15 yards outside of his box as they were so scared of the ball over the top

Always good to read the opinions of the people who were actually there, you definitely get a much better sense of everything seeing it in the flesh IMO. I don't know why people would get touchy about it, those opinions are why I come on here.

On Hoever's mad minute. I didn't have an issue with him trying to play a through ball rather than running the ball into the corner. It was 0-0 at home and we have a break on, I'd rather see us trying to score a winner than running the ball into the corner flag, that would have been a bit small time in my view. Whichever option they chose I just wish the communication between him and Raul was better.

After that, I'd like to have seen a fresh player sprint back into position and he absolutely cannot get the wrong side of Salah, not once but twice. It's unforgivable really

I know this is a superfan comment Jinky, but you really needed to be there to see him today. Stuff you wouldn't see on a TV screen with the camera following the ball. Walking when he should be running, standing still when he should be moving. It was pathetic to watch. Unless the ball was at his feet he wasn't arsed at all. He's gone in Jan and I think he knows it.

I completely agree with this, the single biggest annoyance is his complete lack of awareness when he doesn't have the ball at his feet.

The problem is when Adama plays he's frequently our only attacking outlet and other teams know it. Our issue is we have never worked out how to exploit the spaces that having him on the pitch can create. His decision making is questionable but he had nothing to do with us losing this game today whereas on Wednesday he had everything to do with us not winning it.

Personally if we can keep Adama(which i doubt) he will get much more space when Neto is on the other side...so our attacking play will not always go through Adama

It's impossible to exploit it, when he gets doubled or even tripled up on he doesn't have the awareness to play one touch, ends up running at them which means there is zero advantage from it. This is why he'll end up at Newcastle next year and not Chelsea.

Thanks TT. We don’t see what you in the ground see . I said after Burnley he is a luxury we cannot afford with our current squad. I wish him luck with his future career. He knows it’s not here and sadly, many of us are starting to see that too. Given Fosuns lack of backing it’s never going to be build a squad around Traore is it so, sadly I think he may be off. Just don’t spunk the dough on any promising teenager this time eh?

Traore was our best attacker tonight, but also stood around waiting for passes to come to him and often lost the ball or 50/50s.

With a player with the attributes Adama has, and with players who can ping a long ball that we have, he should be begging them for the ball over the top, the sort Doc would have got on the end of. My biggest frustration with him is that it seems he's only interested in a ball to feet.

You would think he would've twigged years ago. Its honestly a mystery why this has just never become a thing.

we should play more like in the first three games, high pressing, Adama had two solo runs against the keeper..but only against the teams outside the top

Yep, that’s my place. Very bold giving it large in the family enclosure.
I’m WL8 - if you’re that way say hi next time. I’m the tall guy with grumpy looking twin boys.

It's a more than fair result, we couldn't have felt we were unlucky of we'd have lost 2/3 nil really. To get so fucking close to a heroic point though, is absolutely shattering. KJH was twice at fault. Trying to be the hero in the last minute rather than just passing the bloody ball. Then a little lazy getting back, terrible body position and a lack of awareness. Coady I'll forgive, because he probably shouldn't have been on the pitch.

Trincao was only on the pitch 7 minutes but managed to piss me off. Raul sprinting past him to press and tackle somebody was disgusting. Hwang and Semedo both shit out of a few challenges too which always winds me up.

Adama was our biggest threat, but he'd be even more threatening if he remembered he's allowed to move even when the ball isn't at his feet. He's either fucking lazy, fucking thick or both.

Ran was excellent, Kilman also, Neves was also impressive. Nothing stuck to Raul, and his blind balls around the corner were mainly off.

Good defensive shape against a really difficult team. Semedo caught more often than ran, but equally he had led help ahead of him.

I'll also add, it was very poor defending for the goal from both Hoever and Coady.

However, the former had just come on, ran
65 yards with the ball just seconds before and was playing on the wrong side, the latter imo was injured. Feel this needs to be taken into account before we hammer them.

Adama also shit out of a few. One when he should have thrown himself at a cross but didn't, he actually jumped out the way of another when Robertson came flying in.

anybody has stats of most fouled players in the PL?

We effectively played with a flat back 5 today and both our 'wing backs had very good games defending against 2 World Class wide forwards. As full backs they will be good players, need to sign that centre half to make it happen
