Man Utd 0-1 Wolves: Verdict and Vic burnt his backside thread.

This is hilarious.

His biggest detraction was the fact he looked completely shit and slower than treacle.

He held the ball up once and won a few free kicks, let's not go overboard on the Fabio train.

Anybody would think he dribbled through the Utd defence, rounded the keeper and tapped the ball in with his bellend the way some of you are going on about him.

The rest of the team were magnificent. Neves, Moutinho, Kilman, Semedo, Sa need all the props not the golden child.

Whilst I agree the praise is very over board, it’s was an effective cameo and I think we can all agree we want to see more of it.

Even if it was only for 10 minutes, he didn't look like a child tonight.

How is saying he held the ball up and showed strength going overboard? There is a clip of Varane bouncing off him.

He did well, could you admit it?

Agreed. He should have had more minutes so far this season. Particularly in the games where Raul was struggling to make any impact.
You say that but last time he got a similar amount of time he had a good impact at Villa and we didn't see him on the pitch again for ages!

Aye, he looked good for ten minutes, but people seem to expecting that a flick has been switched and he's a shaggy haired Lewandowski all of a sudden. He's still got a lot of development to do, but we need more minutes off the bench for the next ten games before we can even think about starts in the league

For me, the positive is that he’s come on and made an impact. I’m definitely not screaming for him to start currently (maybe in FA cup) but if given 10/15 minutes in games he continues to make an impact then it gives us another option.

He definitely didn’t look as child like tonight as he has previously. Whether this is a one off or not I’m sure we will
Find out on due course, but whereas I was worried about using him due to his previous performances, I’m not so much based on his cameo today. Perhaps he can expect more cameos going forward

Indeed, the bollocks I've read based on a 10 minute cameo is astounding.
For clarity my views on Fabio are not based on a ‘10 minute cameo’. I have previously argued that he needs far more game time because he has quality - which was clearly seen in less than 10 minutes tonight. He will continue to improve.

You are always pretty hilarious. Give the guy a break.

Fat chance!

As if we've won at Old Trafford, never thought i'd get to see us do that but we were deserving winners tonight and the away end was absolutely manic when Joao's shot hit the back of the net,the definition of limbs. I know we don't score many and we are really solid at the back but we're definitely not boring like i've seen aimed at us, we are very wasteful in front of goal and do often struggle with teams that press us well but we're much better to watch than the last year and a half of Nuno and definitely better organised.

Sa did what he had to do, swept up well once, made a good save at the end and claimed crosses. Astonished that some can't see that he's clearly an upgrade on Rui.

Kilman, Coady and Saiss have just been a solid back 3 all season the latter 2 have had a bad game here and there but once again tonight the unit was solid. They're decisive, aggressive in challenges and with Sa give us a really good base to build from.

Semedo frustrates me with the ball because he isn't as positive as i think he could/should be but i do think he's very solid at the moment. There's not many wide players get the better of him and again tonight he was solid, broke forward well but just doesn't quite have that final ball. If we do move to a four at some point he will be a very good right back.

Marcal is what he is, defends well, doesn't do anything fancy as he's not the best on the ball but he does a job.

Moutinho and Neves as a pair were fantastic. Joao pressed like he did when he first joined and took his goal supremely well and is definitely having a bit of a revival after what seemed like his legs were going last season however it doesn't look like that now but Ruben is some footballer. He's playing with so much freedom, his pass to Adama for the goal was sublime and i do wonder how he plays for us, he could walk in to any midfield in the world and excel yet he plays for Wolves. We really do need to make the most of him being here.

Podence was very good both in and out of possession and on another day probably has a goal and an assist but he along with most of our players are just lacking in the final third.

Trincao i think has been harshly treated on most of the verdicts i've seen. He pressed very well, got in some really good position and was fouled time and time again after beating a player. He doesn't have that final ball like the rest of them either but i feel he gets more criticism than most at the moment and i'm not sure it's totally deserved.

Raul wasn't at his best again for me. I will have to see a few things back again but feel he should have done better when Ronaldo headed the ball to him and from the long up and under in the second half but the biggest criticism of him at the moment is he's not holding the ball up as we need him to do and when your main focal point doesn't do that you're not going to be as big a threat as you should be. He was better today than the last twice but his level has dropped markedly since he was outstanding against West Ham. I think this was to be expected with the nature of his injury and i do think managing his game time will help him so we aren't so reliant.

I don't think Adama was particularly good when he came on, he wasn't bad just alright but he did give us a different option in behind and that partly led to the goal as Neves can't play that pass to the front 3 that started.

It seems the big debate after the game regarding Fabio, it's it was only 10 minutes vs but it was a good 10 minutes and the fact is it can be both but what he did show in 10 minutes is that he's got it in him to be an option off the bench definitely and we need that with Raul not at his peak again. My big worry with him as i said after Brighton is that his attitude had started to be questioned but if that isn't an issue then i've never had any worries about him coming on for 15/20 minutes and starting the odd game because i think he's got the talent and should have seen more game time this season and i reiterate that while it was only 10 minutes it was a positive 10 minutes when his hold up play led to Neves being able to put Adama in behind and that's something Raul hasn't done in the last few games he's played. I hope he gets more minutes now and fans have a bit of patience with him as i don't think lots have so far and don't get on his back when he doesn't play well because he will obviously have those games whether he starts or comes off the bench.

Obviously even with all the positives there's things we still need to work on, Fernandes should have put them 1 up and when you should be punished like that it does make the chances we create and don't take more frustrating. I think that's what this squad is at the moment though and we'll probably stay about where we are now but i can cope with that if we continue to see organised, reasonably good football and pick up regular wins.

If Fabio goes on to look good, one could look back and wonder if Bruno's absolute refusal to play him recently wasn't a punishment for said attitude issues. Don't have your head on, don't play.

That assumes his head is on straight now, of course. Which I have no way of knowing.

Love watching Podence - he has such a smart, instinctive football brain - exemplified by when he looked like he was meandering across the top of the box, then swivelled and shot quickly nearly catching De Gea out at the near post.
Podence leaving out the dummies, flicks and tricks, is a brilliant footballer as he showed last evening.

It is good to see Fabio being given some praise. He did well for 10 minutes. When he does well for 10 games and has 10 goals/ assists under his belt I will also be much happier. Trincao is too lightweight for 25m. I would not be signing him over Hwang based on what we have seen so far. 14m for Hwang looks the better investment for this league. We still need a CM. Neves/ Moutinho/Donk cant do it forever and an extra option would be desirable , an oven ready one not potential please.

And a word on Sa. His rick cost us a point at home and his save won us 2 here. He is integral to us and how we play. His area domination and anticipation makes up for the lack of pace we have in central defence. A complete steal for 6m. Worth 5 times that every day.

I've said it before about Sa, I think you'd struggle to find more than 5 or 6 gks better than him in the PL. And the stats back it up. From memory so not definite, he's ranked 1st in save %, 1st in chances created, top 3 in sweeper actions, 1st in crosses claimed. He's a darned good goalkeeper.

I read this before the game yesterday, which I find quite interesting (especially as I’ve been very critical of him in the past). Given Fabio’s “stats” were in a Nuno side devoid of any creativity or willingness to attack, I think I’ll have to admit he may be worth giving more minutes to. Especially after last nights cameo.

This season:
Raul Jimenez- 1,395 mins, 5 g/a
Hwang Hee-Chan- 983 mins, 4 g/a

Last season:

Fabio Silva- 1,355 mins, 7 g/a

What a lovely way to round off the holidays. thought Podence had one of his better games, he seems to thrive against bigger opponents (no pun intended)

Like others have said so many good solid performances from Neves, Moutinho and Semedo and nice to see some attacking intent. We still need to work on finishing once we get into these positions but it is nice to see us actually getting into the positions. Thought Fabio was ok when he came on, it doesn't justify anything at present and I am still worried about his shocking lack of pace, but there could be a player in there, we will have to wait and see.

Special shout out to Kilman, not just on his defensive strength but his mazy run he went on in the second half, although I think he got a nosebleed when he realised he was in their penalty area.

Happy days
