Wolves 3-1 Southampton: Verdict Thread

Fuck off, fuck off, fuck off with suitable arm gestures I think was my response

I gave the hoarding behind me a right smash.

Re: the shithousery, we got a pen and they didn't. If it had been roles reversed I reckon we'd have made a lot more of donks challenge and maybe got a different decision.

Entertaining game. Like a lot of games it looked like we might click into top gear, but didn't. Trincao clearly has ability, but needs to cut out some of the flicks and tricks and just take his man on more or lay the ball off, also don't do it in your own half. If he can get on the same page as Podence (another who needs to flick off) and Raul then at some point I think we'll properly open someone up.

Fair play to Gomes, didn't do anything wrong, not as comfortable on the ball as our other centre halves, but kept it simple. Too small a sample to judge whether he'll have a career here, but certainly did himself no harm

Sa continues to make crucial saves, he had his 'moment' but it didn't cost us and did a lot to ensure we didn't concede from one of their 10 corners

Time for Donck to go in the Summer I think, loose with the ball on too many occasions. We need him for the rest of this season, but with a couple of signings 😄 I'd be moving him on

Statement I never thought I'd make. Kilman reminded me of VVD today. The way he stepped in front on their forwards and just bullied them off the ball was reminiscent of him. Completely assured and playing with so much confidence.

Don't think I've seen a better free kick live...some hit. Happy to watch it in a win!

Players at the club who have improved under Bruno - Semedo, RAN, Kilman, Coady, Saiss, Neves, Moutinho (on last season), Fabio. Fair play to him, he and his team have done remarkably well whilst being shafted by Jeff and co
Would you put podence in that list too?

It seems to me like he's having more of an impact on games

Yeah, honestly not sure how long it's been since Podence had a run of health like this. Feels like a long time.

Podence got a few pelters last season for feigning injury, got clattered from behind two games running and struggled after that. Been very good last 4 or 5 games

That CM is going to be hard to find with the quality of Neves and Moutinho but it’s highly likely neither of them will be here 2 years from now. And we need a third option who isn’t Donck.
Yep

Soton unlucky to come away from that without a point but we stuck at it and won. That's all that matters. Moutinho man of the match for me. Diamond of a player. Pity all he had was Donk alongside him. Neves not even in the squad, worries me. Like a few on here, final word for Fabio. He's gonna be a star, mark my words.

Neves had Covid. Confirmed by Bruno. No transfer shenanigans.

Not a lot I agree with here
He didn't get pelters Nuno got it for playing him when clearly injured. I remember saying something like he's either injured or a coward and said it's the former. I also don't think he's been very good, I think he's been lively. In the PL the end product is still lacking. The potential is tantalising though

I think that’s fair but also think we are currently a better team with him in it out of our wide options. I like the idea of him and Neto as our wide forwards

Out of interest, what was Adama showing on those white gloves ? Camera didn't have the angle.

Absolutely, I wasn't suggesting he shouldn't play, just that I think the end product still needs to come in the league

Agree! It’s also a shame we never got to see him neto and Adama together behind the forward more often when we played a back four. That arsenal game being a great example of what was possible.

Any idea what happened to Lyanco? Just stopped playing which gave Traore the freedom of the pitch for the goal. Then came back on and finished the game

Entitled to your opinion of course but I disagree, people definitely questioned his performances due to going over too easily rather than actually being injured, he did get clattered a couple of times ( the one he didn't even get a free kick for it) and for me we have looked better with him in the team recently.
Yes you did say it was Nuno as did others but that doesn't make the points wrong
