Boris at it again and the contest to replace the lying c***

The 1922 are voting on reducing the timespan a leader can face a vote of no confidence from 12 months to 6...speaks volumes on a)what they think of Johnson and b) his likelihood to survive the first. Brings booting him a couple of months after the local elections back into play

Ok.

*It's grand that a Tory is defecting, it makes Boris look even weaker, and it will turn heads in the Tory party. (said by many already)

*There should be a bi election, even this guy voted for that very thing (said by many already)

*Why is Starmer letting this guy into his party, he looks like a bit of a cunt, from having a quick look at his voting record (no one had said, so I posted)

Bit of a fucking joke that i had to justify my post to be honest, rather than that point being debated, instead the man is played instead of the ball and TWF's own attack dog is quickly along to make a thread as miserable as possible once again.
It's pure political theatre from Labours perspective and hugely damaging for Boris of course. That said, he votes kids into poverty, is anti climate action and hates refugees. Wanting an ideologically pure Labour party is one thing but the bar has to be set at least a little higher than this nobhead.

I don't think you can reject him in the moment, because of the statement it makes. Once that stops being politically useful I do hope they bin him off, he's a scumbag in every regard with the exception of calling Owen Patterson what he is

Dear me.

Anyway, I see he has briefed the rags to splash with the fact his newborn was quite sick with Covid to try and garner sympathy for Big Dog.

Trouble is, I don’t believe the story. Especially as it seems an odd step for a parent who has just nursed a very sick baby through Covid to then immediately lift all Covid restrictions for political expediency.

William Wragg saying that Conservative MPs who aren't supportive of the PM have been intimidated by the Government. Telling them to go to the police.

Another hand brigade thrown at the PM.

Robert Peston

@Peston

I understand Sue Gray has found the email from a senior official to PM’s principle private secretary Martin Reynolds warning him the 20 May party should not go ahead, as per Cummings’s revelation and my blog below. So huge…

I think Reynolds is still in post so they'll probably just try and throw him under the bus for it to protect Boris.

Even so, Boris would look immensely stupid and incapable of thought if he blames Reynolds. Would he allow his ego to take that?

Coupled with that he looks like he has no control over his staff and they’re just doing what they want, makes him look weak, incompetent and stupid. That loses elections.

I think it would probably be enough for them to force a no confidence vote in him and try to have him removed, can't ever see him leaving of his own volition though.

He's deluded.

It does however mean that the Cummings version of events is ringing true. There might not be a paper trail but if Sue Gray is to report on the facts then she would be able to report that the PMs senior advisors knew what sort of event it was and it was stated that the PM would be asked about the event.

His defence would be that he wasn't informed of this, didn't know the rules and that he didn't know it was a party. It would leave the PM in a position whereby people would be willing to swear on oath that he knew of the event. If he doesn't resign he would have to front up to those threats of swearing on oath.

Claiming he didn’t know the rules just won’t wash. He’s kicked the can down the road until Sue Grey reports and he will have to answer that. Surely even Tory MPs aren’t going to accept the man making the rules didn’t know them? Currently many are ducking the issue as they don’t want to put their heads above the parapet but come Soogray Day they have to jump one way or the other. Currently they are probably hoping enough other MPs write to Graham Brady and that they can get rid of him without breaking cover. Spineless twats!
