January 2022 Transfer Thread

Form comes and goes in football, but I think our impenetrability is more than just form. Any additional creativity on top of that very solid base could be worth millions to us, but it isn't happening this January, I don't think..

I am not getting carried away. Results still outweigh performances and we are only an injury or suspension away from a weakened team. Now if we signed a Sanches or similar it changes . I can’t see us doing that .

and we have played "weakened" teams. Hoever did well covering for Semedo vs chelsea. Toti Gomes has performed ok twice now. We were missing neves for the southampton game.

This is the managers job, to adapt to such circumstances, including missing Johnny, Neto, etc etc.

We could catch West Ham . They are not as good as last year . Arsenal - hard to say with them , due a bad run . Spurs - they might be winning , but we can match them .
The most important thing is that we are a strong 8th right now .

February is a big month .

If Bruno gets 59 points, there's a genuine argument to suggest it objectively eclipses Nuno's best seasons here. To do that without Jota, Neto, Jonny, and a functioning Raul is some achievement compared to what's gone before

The two 7ths came with an FA Cup semi final (should have been a final) and a Europa League quarter final respectively so I wouldn't go that far as yet (also Raul is not really any different now).

He has Semedo who is immeasurably better for the team than Doherty was.

Still good though.

Bruno is doing great. Better than I thought he would so, for what my worthless opinion matters, I was wrong. Ultimately though our improvement is not immeasurable - finish 6th we’ve done better, finish 8th not so good. Umpteen moving parts you could argue the toss about either way, but the league is the hard metric. Great season by all measures in my lifetime though so, credit where it’s due and I’m just grateful as much as anything. We can just be happy about the excellent season we’re having, without putting the joy of 18/19 in the shade of an eclipse.

Spurs fans losing their shit at Adama being spotted in Selfridge's in London today. No one tell them that our entire squad is on holiday for the week.

Well it has been a bit quiet from the London bias gutter press who are absolutely desperate for us to be shafted in this transfer saga
Whether we lose him or not this thing boils my piss, so the Spuds fans have got to keep this latest news somehow I suppose

Selfridges is at the western end of Oxford Street. It's hardly next door to the new Stadium! Stamford Bridge is probably closer

I mean if Boro were back in for him and he was seen in a Middlesbrough Greggs buying a a Vegan sausage roll, then fair enough.

But footballer being seen in Oxford street's Selfridges!? That's massive straw clutching.

Apparently we tried to sign him in the summer with the idea of loaning him to Grasshoppers?
