There's a fair few not renewed and I'm not sure I understand your point.
Fair enough. I think there’s only 2-3 off this board that I’m aware of that haven’t renewed due to their personal circumstances.

I don’t really have a “point”. Just found it interesting. 34% of ST holders in the poll answered that they were “considering not renewing”, but when push comes to shove, most will or have. People will still pay, albeit through gritted teeth - but the club won’t care about that. They’ll dress it up as being the “highest % renewal rate ever” & it will justify their price hikes.

I am in that category and there is only 18. I know of two that haven't, one considering still and two that have.

All for different reasons. I personally couldn't give a flying fuck what that cunt Jeff says and the Chinese Ashleys can fuck the fuck off. I bought my ticket because I enjoy the match day and watching my club.

Left it till the last minute, but not renewing.

From down here the s/t cost is not the only expense I have and like everyone else have increased expenditure on essentials.

Will take a membership & have enough ticket cash to cover that so will be back for some matches. As a single person can usually find somewhere in the stadium as long as as I buy as soon as I can. Will miss the group I have made friends with over the last 4 years around me as they are decent , but most (as far as I know) are renewing my original seat may be a single seat available in that row so will look there first.

There are only 2 reasons why I have renewed but I won't name them...

Less than 11 hours to go and I still can't decide.

In any other walk of life you'd absolutely tell them to bike it, they treat us like absolute shit, put prices up by miles for no reason and the product is largely dreadful. But y'know.

To be honest mate the sole factor in me doing this is so Cass can keep hers. She's employed from September so she can buy her own in future then if I do decide to drop out she can carry on going. Expensive way to keep her in the loop but the things you do for your kids....

I say this as part of the problem not the solution, but the issue with talking, but not walking is it gives licence to carry on operating in the same fashion. 7k or so not renewing and them not being replaced because the waiting list isn't real would have sent a legacy fan message that may just have been noticed

I don't know how you fix that though because you're never going to co-ordinate the message so that thousands of people all do it at the same time.

If I alone choose not to renew today - and it's still very much on the table - then they aren't going to notice or care. So I can't do it as a gesture really, because it's pointless. It comes down to whether I enjoy it or not, which on some levels I do, on others I absolutely do not.

There's bound to be at least a couple of thousand who won't renew and that waiting list is full on vapour-ware. My youngest is 6,000 odd and I wouldn;t be surprised if he gets a chance.

We need a new poll for those on here and on the waiting list 'Will you take out a season ticket'

Yeah I know DW. Essentially you have people looking for excuses to renew despite not really wanting to in terms of how they feel about the direction the club is going / lack of entertainment. You only need to see this thread with a combination of friends, family, habit and ticket cash being used rather than an actual desire to watch the 'product'. Walking away, when it's not a purely financial decision is tough even if there's a large part of you who wants to

There is one. Of the 4 that originally voted yes they would, 3 have already stated that they won't now.

And that's the crux of the problem, your football club is your club and going to matches for the most part is something a lot have fans have done since they were kids and it's ingrained. It's a way of life. I'll take Cass as a prime example, started taking her at an early age and now she's completely hooked, she loves the day out and just 'being there' and is probably something she will take into her regular outgoings once she starts work, it's hard to break that because they're your club.
On my part it's 99% to keep her happy, I don't think any of us would want to let their kids down so there you go, proves your point. Yeah I'd miss going (I had a phase between 2002 - 2010 when I hardly went at all for differing reasons) and I really missed it but right now I genuinely couldn't give a fuck if I didn't make one match next season. That's what the club don't see, they don't see I don't care right now, they don't see I'm really stretching myself to keep my kid happy which in turn will play a small part in keeping a miniscule percentage of their future fanbase happy, and furthermore they don't give a fuck. That's what grates on me. The product is wank, the attitude towards me and every other person forking out to renew is wank and while I'd love this attitude to really bite them on the arse at some point I doubt it will.
