Hi all,

I will be taking on the beastly Velo Birmingham this year. 100 mile organised cycling event in order to raise funds for charity.

The news of Carl Ikeme's diagnosis was, obviously, a huge shock to us all so when I saw that there were spaces available to ride for Team Cure Leukaemia it felt like the least I could do to show my support.

The event is on 24th September and will be the longest distance I've attempted by a good 20 miles in what is my first year of serious cycling. I never thought I would be even considering this kind of distance at the start of the year, so it's safe to say it's going to take everything I've got to complete it!

Please take a look at my Just Giving page and donate if you can - https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/william-machin

Cheers,
Will

Well done, mate. I will be donating.

I've stickied this mate - a great cause and I wish you the best of luck! I noticed your strava activities of late so fair play to you!

Good luck dude. Starting taking cycling bit more seriously myself recently so hopefully I can get doing one of these myself soon!

Cheers for the donation mate!

Go on Will. Much respect for even thinking about doing it.

Will donate in the next week or so

Will be donating as soon as my next paycheck comes in.

Good on you for this, Will. Solid beard, too.

Ha ha, cheers Al. Not sure of the aerodynamic properties of said beard, mind.

Done and gift aided,Teresa's going to have to find another magic money tree at this rate

They make it a bit tricky to donate from these distant shores but I got it done on the third attempt.

Ride like the wind!
