Allow Fans Back In Petition

The best immune system ever seen.

Overactive would probably have been a better word.

Whilst schools, colleges and universities remain open, the notion that you can contain the virus is what's nonsensical. The Government are very clear that they aren't going to change this therefore letting 3000 fans into a stadium which holds 30000 whilst not having the concessions underneath the stands open is not going to exaggerate the spread. For that volume of crowd the pub and public transport arguments are complete red herrings

It's increasing use of public transport and pubs, shops etc at a time when the infections are way higher than before. It would be irresponsible to allow thousands of people back to football.

Pubs have to follow strict rules including mitigation measures, public transport the same. I think if we were talking about 30-50k descending on a town or city centre then yes it would be irresponsible but 10-15% capacity is a risk that can be mitigated.

Not necessary though. Why create the extra human traffic at a time when we should be reducing it?

It might be. But it's way down the list. We've already opened pretty much everything apart from live sport, theatres and clubs and the infection rate has changed accordingly. Plus it will only get worse through the winter.

Can you provide me with a copy of the list please? It seems a bit arbitrary to rate activities based on poor or non-existent evidence.

Managed and limited attendance at sporting events will have a negligible impact on the R rate

And you know this how?

The Govt. and their advisers don't agree, probably because as others have said, the difficulty of controlling the ins and outs of the stadia.

Pubs and restaurants have been open for months and nothing happened. They were actually really busy and nothing happened....

1. Football stadium are outside and the evidence shows that transmission is lower outside than inside.
2. Pubs already have limited capacity imposed so an increase in footfall won’t cause a corresponding increase in pub capacity. Therefore should have no impact on the R rate other than already exists.
3. Pubs should be COVID secure but as an added measure, pubs could have increased measures imposed before and after games.
4. Public transport could be increased before and after matches to ensure greater capacity therefore further mitigating risks.
5. We are talking (for Wolves) an additional 3-4k in an outdoor area with social distancing applied which has been shown to reduce transmission.

That’s not entirely accurate, pubs and restaurants have been identified as having an impact on the R rate, my point is that limited attendance at football matched won’t have much of an additional impact because the areas where there could be an impact are already opening and operating.

If pubs, restaurants and similar have to close then there is no argument to return to watching football and it won’t happen...but while they remain open there is no argument against it in my opinion.

Well anything other than locking ourselves in our house will increase it. But there has to be a trade off you can’t just close everything and lock everyone up

What percentage of our fanbase, go to the game on public transport or go to the pub beforehand? I wouldn't claim to be representative but do neither

the government are knee jerking to guesswork from a few scientists. Forget the R rate and concentrate on the D rate which is currently just under 2% and the majority are elderly with underlying conditions.

Should have had a full stop after the '2%' as the rest was unnecessary and inappropriate.

Dowden went to the indoor ballet at the weekend 400 people in a 2200 capacity venue. 1 rule for them...

Yeh, there's nothing worse than when the ballet crowd kicks out into the street, drunkards fighting, shagging in bus stops, apparently the Tchaikovsky hordes are the worst, they're like the operas version of Slayer fans
