✍️ We are delighted to announce that @andiweimann has joined Wolves on loan from @dcfcofficial until the end of the season. #WelcomeAndi

Happy with this deal. If he can recapture some of his Villa form then we have a real threat up front again. Didnt think he deserved to be fucked off from Villa.

As I said last night. More a number 10 (in the old fashioned sense) / winger. Not really what we need, but I did rate him at Villa, missed sitters from the outset for Derby and confidence shot since. Now he has a manager that supports him, hopefully he will get his mojo back. If so make it permanent in the Summer if not send him back.

Would rather have him than Marshall as his best Villa form is better than anything Marshall has ever done.

He won't solve our 'non-scoring forwards' issue (in fact, he'll probably add to them), but I don't think he'll be used as an option up top anyway. Possibly another option to compete with Mason in the number 10 role, and/or one of the wide forward positions.

He's an intelligent player, has good experience of playing in the Championship & Premier League. His movement off the ball should work well with the players we currently have.

On a loan, it's no risk for us. Welcome Andreas & good luck.

No idea what he can do that Bodvarsson can't but we'll see.

Good luck to him.

Played mainly on the wing under Lambert, didn't he?

I think Bod is probably seen as an 'out & out' option up top, to compete with Dicko.

Weimann will play in the number 10 role behind the forward or one of the wider positions, I imagine. Seems a bit strange signing a player on loan to directly compete with Mason after PL bigged him up this week - but it's healthy competition.

I do wonder what that means for Bright, though.

It's not a bad move to make in case one of Cav or Helder get kicked up in the air and miss a few games.

Meh...really dont see the point in this when we have Tex still here and hes been untried as a #10
be even more miffed if hes gonna be preferred to Cav on the left.

Right of a genuine front three (Benteke through the middle, Gabby on the left), we know that Helder probably won't be here next year so perhaps this is part way to replacing him in the longer term and in the interim we'll see if he's got anything about him playing as a striker.

He did which is why I find this an odd move when we have more pressing issues in other areas, i.e. up front and LB. Also our wide berths are arguably taken by our 2 best players.

He's a decent enough player though so good luck to him.

His best form was in a genuine 433 with Benteke down the middle and him and Flabby Gabby either side.

You might as well forget Tex, he's behind Mason, Ronan and Bright for the #10 slot as well as possibly Weimann now, he isn't even making the bench. I'll be mildly surprised if he's still here in a fortnight, I imagine Mendes is looking for another Ola John style sub-loan.

I hope we don't see the return of 4-3-3 its one of the biggest failures I've seen as a formation here in the last few years. I think Lambert has 4-2-3-1 really working for him I hope he doesn't mess around with it.

Beats his man and gets the balls in better then superb, Cav dillies and dallies too much for my liking and his delivery is poor.

Its hard but i think im going to have to :)
Sick of reading the "hes too lightweight" comments though.
Hes no more lightweight than Costa, point proved against Sheff Weds when he came on and steamed in immediately and got booked.
He actually looked the better player of the 2 for the first few matches of the season, think we are going to look back and regret not using him.
