**ANNOUNCEMENT - CHANGES TO TWF - PLEASE READ!**

It's because people think they're writing PMs because that's what used to happen when you clicked on someone's avatar in the old forum (I think) but in the new one you're posting to someone's profile. I made the same mistake myself trying to report a site problem to Vis.

To be fair if we hadn’t had the new site nobody would have even heard of Pogo Danderfluff (and yes I did know I was posting on his public profile and not sending him a PM).

As a tapatalk user on the old forum, it's taken some time to get used to navigating (mainly on my phone) using Chrome.

Recently, pages just stopped loading completely when using Chrome (I'd just get a gold background fill my entire screen) - this was the case both on my phone and on a PC or laptop.

As there isn't an app to use any more, I've downloaded Firefox on all of my devices and can confirm that pages do now load. However, I still find web-based browsing less covenient than using an app. Is there any chance we'll get the new forum on Tapatalk (or an equivalent)?

I have to do the same. Hope Chrome works and if not switch to Firefox. Which doesn't always work either, sometimes it just loads half a page repeatedly.

To be fair, and I completely understand Tapatalk users wanting it back, it isn't the answer as it happens on desktop as well. Browsing functionality yeah, the familiarity again is understandable but it doesn't fix the issues on desktop PCs.

Not had anywhere like as many issues on desktop as I do on mobile - its pretty much unusable on mobile (which is why Tapatalk would be useful).

I'm not signed into anything now except TWF, til it breaks

Just took me five attempts to get this thread loaded properly on FF on my PC.

There used to be a feature previously where you could see who the most prolific posters were in individual threads, can't remember exactly how/where you did this but certainly remember it being a thing, is that still something that can be done on the new forum?

I assume we're not going to have a more subtle blue/neutral forum design then? That's a real shame. Think there were quite a few people who wanted one.

As for issues loading, I basically have to clear my cookies/browsing history every single time I load the forum on my phone, or it just doesn't work. It's absolutely fine every time I use the desktop though, which is weird.

Same as me, flaky as hell on the phone but don't think I've touched cookies on desktop for weeks.

I find the problem more frequent on my phone but far easier to fix, so in balance it's less annoying. If I ever get a blank white or orange page then I just close Chrome and re-open it, works nearly every time, certainly never had to clear cookies through my phone.

Doesn't tend to happen too often on desktop but more of a faff to go through the process of deleting cookies when it does.

I'm quite surprised you've let the all caps title get off so lightly for so long

All caps are good, mixed up is not

At some point we may want to move to beefier hosting - I suspect the issue is that the server just cant handle the load, so sometimes craps out.

But thats more of a ballache, as it involves copying the database over - whereas with the upgrade it was just creating a new DB on the same machine and importing all the data.

I'll have a look around at whats on offer.

Sure there are plenty who would contribute to a 'gofundme' if needed too.
