Sellars still trying to say that loaning Adama Traore to Barcelona was the correct option - he said "you have to remember he wasn't getting in the team here"

Even if that was the case, loaning him with no obligation when you know his contract is going to have 12 months on it when the loan expires is still a stupid move, but it's not the case is it? As I've seen pointed out on Twitter, in the 9 games before he left for Barcelona, he played in all of them, starting 4. Again taking the fans for mugs, making out like he wasn't getting a kick.
That's what I was getting at yesterday when I said it sort of makes a mockery of doing the videos in the first place if they're going to be disingenuous with their answers & explanations. We'd have appreciated it much more if they could admit that not all of their decisions paid off, but that they'd learn from them. Sellars spouting that the Adama deal was still the right thing to do is clearly batshit mental.

I get what Jeff is saying, yes we have a wider catchment area, but realistically a club that is 100% local cannot compete long term with Global super Powers.

Building our Foreign fan base, Building our E sports building everything may well get us to a level of worldwide support that allows us to compete.

Building the brand will take time, it will also make our challenge to the top 6 Sustainable
The second paragraph won't make a jot of difference to the 1st and 3rd and if the strategy for doing so is playing League 1 footballers then it actively damages it

For those who have watched/read the Shi interview and noted how keen he is on "the brand", the Asian market etc.

Do we now agree that there will be pressure on the manager to play Hwang over others, be it direct or indirect?

Has always been the case.

I wonder what is worse for Lage's job security not playing Hwang and pissing Jeff off or playing him and significantly weakening the side?

The problem is, he has to balance both, and also how the players react to it, which is far from easy.

There can't be many managers who would even accept it.

I agree, but there were a number who didn't.

I think all question of it has been eliminated after Shi's interview.
I was already with you, although I feel it's more likely indirect than direct. What it has made we wonder is how much of the Nuno breakdown started with him refusing to sign off on the Hwang signing previously? We know Jeff was jealous of him getting all the praise, fair to assume this would have pissed him off as well.

Players will take the piss and know his place isn't earned which will piss people off as it does in any work place.

This is all on the cunt of a CEO.

Absolutely, these are generally young lads who get their own way too, they are going to struggle to get their heads around it, just like we do.

I wonder what the players make of the crap Shi comes out with? I wonder if they are even bothered? But if i was a prospective player looking to sign for us, i'd be watching that and be far from excited about the "project", he's not exactly selling the dream is he.

Look, the dream is now soporific midtable with an odd venture into round 5 of the FA cup until we get relegated. How is that not a great sales pitch?

At least we will win EA Sports FC trophies (assuming we aren't using the same sales pitch for esports as we are for real sports!)

For the players not much will have changed - come here, play well, raise your profile and get a big move, if you're good enough/have the right profile.

Failing that, you'll still make a decent living, probably better than most other leagues (financially at least - culturally you never really know who'll settle and who won't)

I’ve watched Shi and Vinny, really can’t be arsed to spend time on the rest. The messages are pretty clear.

Probably because the Brum Mail don't have to kiss ass like the E&S and Spiers seem to think they need to you get pieces that I'd say are more representative of what most people think

It's already started, mate. Fabio & Podence literally laughed in the face of Hwang when he fell over and failed to keep the ball in v Liverpool in the final game.

All I say is start getting use to deciding which 3 teams might be worse than us each year.
With current trajectory I’m pretty sure we’ll go down in the next 5-6 seasons would be amazed if we haven’t by the time we hit the 30’s

Jeff must have creamed his pants thinking he'd cracked it when Hwang scored on his debut

Finding the whole thing bizarre tbh. Kind of thing that happens in a kids team, playing your family member or mate's kid who's not quite up to it

Catching up with all of this as didn’t get chance to listen to them.

Russell Jones saying the SB improvements could be as little as £16m? So for the value of Hwang and his contract we could have actually used that for something useful instead?

Useful for the 'legacy' fans though
