It was either that or Silva + Podence :(

I’m not a footballing tactician and will probably get laughed at, ignored or told to get back in my box, but I’ll suggest it anyway….
If Semedo is fit, would we be brave enough to play RAN and Nelson in their advanced roles and trust Jonny in a right sided midfield role?
Maybe a daft suggestion but based on his performances since he retuned from injury and especially some of the positions he found himself in against Leeds culminating in a well worked goal perhaps someone with Jonnys quality, strength and experience could lessen the loss of Neves as well as cover Semedo when pushing forward
Tin hat at the ready😊

Jonny is so good you could probably stick him in central midfield and he'd be like a fish to water.

As it is, I'd go Jonny LWB and Nelson RWB.

I'd just stick Jonny up top, like City did with James Milner during that spell they had no strikers. But then I'd also let him borrow Sa's gloves and go in net for any pens we concede, like the most athletic kid in the playground was prone to do so maybe my crush is just out of hand.

I think I’d rather play Jonny in CM than Donk :(

Fabio should be starting this one but I think we’ll see Hwang and Pod. Plus Trincao if we play 3-4-3.

Assuming 3-5-2 I think it'll be:

Sa

Kilman - Coady - Saiss

Jonny - Cundle - Donk - Moutinho - RAN

Hwang - Podence
Can't see this given the debacle of Leeds.

We need a focal point and with the ineffectiveness of Hwang as a lone forward I think Bruno will probably go 3-4-3 with Donk and Mout in midfield and Pod, Hwang and Silva up front.

Can't see why we'd bring Semedo back in given the form of Jonny and RAN.

I think we all know Hwang will start if fit/available. Bruno bloody loves him.

He rarely does anything with it. Jonny has shown his output is far better in his short time back.

No way Semedo scores or assists as Jonny has. Just not his game.
Not the full story is it, Doherty would score more than all our current WBs put together, not a single person would ever suggest bringing him back.

RAN didn't cover himself in glory vs Leeds either.

We'll have to agree to disagree. I'd rather have WB's with end product than players who carry the ball but do nothing. We've just got rid of one of those.

RAN was shafted by Bruno and the medical staff against Leeds as Saiss should've been taken off which left RAN defending the entire left side on his own.

Regardless of which it didn't change the fact he doesn't assist for the OG without Jonny (against Watford)

I genuinely don't think we miss Semedo and look a better outfit without him.

Winning against Arsenal when he went off and we lost...then we've lost three of the following five :D

Again, I suspect Semedo plays as soon as he's fit. There's certain players you know will just get picked when available, and Nels + Hwang are two of them. I reckon he'll go Nelson + Jonny.

What I *think* Bruno will pick:

Sa
Nelson Kilman Coady Saiss Jonny
Moutinho Donk
Trincao Hwang Podence
What I would pick:

Sa
Nelson Kilman Coady Boly Jonny
Cundle Moutinho Donk
Podence
Silva
I think we need to play three midfielders. Which means Podence playing off Silva - an actual forward who might hold the ball up - rather than a makeshift one in Trincao or Hwang. As I say, we all know Hwang will be shoe-horned in somehow, but Podence/Fabio seem to have quite a good understanding whenever they are on the pitch together, so I'd prefer to go with that. Cundle would keep it neat & tidy in the middle and Boly gets the nod ahead of Saiss, for me. Again, won't happen.
