I can't play Rooney and Shearer together with that midfield. As shearer is 9 I am going Kane up top with him as Kane can come deeper and hold play up. Second and third choices reflect that

Each to their own, but I don't see how a two of Lineker and Shearer would work. Shearer before injury had the more rounded game, but they'd still be fundamentally making the same runs

Yeah i understand that, neither Rooney or Lineker would likely work with Shearer, but are we picking the team that works the best or are we picking the best 11 players? Because they would be entirely different teams.

Sniffer suggested it's a partner rather than the best player. I had Lineker second to Shearer in the first forward list, but not in this 3 for that reason.

Well on that basis why were Robson and Gascoigne picked together? That surely isn't a partnership likely to work well together?
