Best Films Ever

Well musicals don't get much love . . . very blokey !

syncophantia had The Jungle Book and I had Singin' In The Rain . .
 
I don't mind a musical these days, always liked the early Disney cartoons like Jungle Book, Aristocats, Robin Hood etc...some great singalong tunes in them.
Think the last musical I watched was Sunshine On Leith, which I enjoyed.

i started a list yesterday and stopped when i hit about 70 films. rather than post the lot here's what i think wasn't mentioned but not a religious check so there may be duplicates. some really great films i missed as well that you guys picked up. there's probably a load more old gems we don't remember as well

Picnic at Hanging Rock has just popped into my head. Bloody good cult Aussie movie.
 
My son's mom and I split up when he was really little and I've always taken him to the cinema from a young age when he comes on the weekend.

Probably a bit too much really as it's definitely not a treat, it's just a routine we've always done - just wanted to make it a nice experience him coming to see me.

Anyway - as a result I've probably seen the vast majority of kids films that have been released in the last 10-11 years. There has been loads of absolute shit in that time, but also some amazing ones which I never would have bothered with had I not been taking a child. The level of filmmaking in them is really excellent.

The highlights are:

Inside Out - this is up there with any live action film for me, there was talk about it being nominated in the best picture category at the Oscars when it came out, but it didn't happen. It should have won it IMO

The Lego Movie

Coco - destroyed me this one, was crying like a baby

yeah, had that in my list then crossed it off just cos there's obviously no pay-off.
it's good and the tension is epic.

Some absolute corkers here - City of God, Lost in Translation, No Country for Old Men - didn't even think of them when I did my list but they'd definitely have been on there I had!
 
Lost In Translation would definitely be in my list. Love that film.
 
Love old black and white, Kind hearts & Coronets, Hobsons Choice, The Smallest Show on Earth etc. etc.
 
I may have worn the Flash T-shirt from that film at Kenny’s stag In Budapest. Squeeze hates the shirt with an absolute passion.
