Ooh - favourite city is a good addition. Tough choice for me. Candidates would be Edinburgh, Singapore and Bridgetown

North: Edinburgh
West: Madrid or Mallorca. Whichever one is further west
South: Egypt (Nile cruise)
East: Prague

Favourite City: Hamburg

North: Oslo - Norway
South: Phuket - Thailand
East: Koh Samui - Thailand
West: Las Vegas

Favourite city: New York

Langers - Salou is really good, miles of beach and not too busy. Still plenty to do and only an hour and a half on a flight.

I really like Fowey in Cornwall as it is beautiful but Thailand is the best holiday I've had. Benidorm is by far the worst place I've ever been to and that was for a stag do.

Hate Edinburgh. Skyline is quite pretty I suppose but the rest is just crap and the people are arseholes. Glasgow wins every day of the week for me.

Went to Egypt a few times when I was a kid as my dad loves the history and it's brilliant. Luxor in August was just unbearable though

North: Stornoway
South: Luxor
East: Hurghada
West: Donegal

Can't believe no one has backed me up with Barcelona. Absolutely fantastic city!

Can't believe no one has backed me up with Barcelona. Absolutely fantastic city!

Barcelona is ace. I've been twice and love it (although last year we were only there as it was where our Disney cruise set sail from) A great city with loads of culture plus there's a beach too.

We will just have to disagree. I adore auld reekie. Not to say that Glasgow sucks. It really doesn't and I have enjoyed every visit I have ever made there as well. One thing I noticed AGAIN this week is how fucking expensive a beer is in Edinburgh. That is a definite drawback.

We're going to Carvoeiro next month and also went last year. I too love the Algarve and the Portuguese people are great.

I visited Carvoeiro for the first time a couple of weeks ago. There's a great secluded beach if you follow the right hand road up the side of main beach. Up the left side are superb cliff top walks along wooden walkways and a lovely bar nestled in the rocks

You're really going to struggle to convince me of your opinion now you've revealed you been on A) A cruise, B) a Disney themed anything & C) A Disney fecking Cruise!!

I love Disney and the cruise was ace! The mother-in-law treated us last year (there's a theme to all our holidays these days, we can't afford to pay for them ourselves!) and I wasn't about to turn down a free trip on a Disney Cruise. She's taking us to Disneyland Paris next year :)

Barcelona is a great city though, regardless of my reasons for being there last year. The wife and I went a few years back and we love it there. Although on the Camp Nou tour we sat down in the stands and there were a group of kids on a school trip from bloody Sandwell sitting near us!

Welcome Sir, you have just entered the 2nd circle of hell. Ball basting in hot treacle is a walk in the park compared to this. Enjoy.

Thanks. We didn't go either way when we were there last, but I'll take a look this time.
