Best Uncapped England Team

Didn't know about Paul Elliott, I only knew Saunders to play for Villa, Sheff Utd and Bradford so just looked it up. Even for back then that is a shocker of a challenge. Muscatesque in wanting to do serious injury to the player.

Anyway, spotted this video in the related, interview with the English FA (Why, who knows) just before taking over here and another one of Dean's tall stories about his time in Galatasaray. A good luck ritual of slaughtering a goat and then drinking the blood, plus him sliding into said blood.

Listened to it sceptically and checked the comments which are illuminating.

Was this bollocks known already heard his other stuff but never come across this one till today.

Same as Kendall. I can't remember seeing him play, although I almost definitely did, but my Brother In Law reckons that for a few seasons at Everton he was real quality.

Kevin Keelan Norwich
Derek Parkin Steve Bruce Dennis Mortimer Pat Van Den Hauwe

Ken Hibbitt Graham Paddon Duncan Mackenzie Clive Woods

Jimmy Greenhoff Gary Shaw

That's not a bad team from days gone by!

Pat Van Den Hauwe was capped for Wales.

That's why I can't find him on England caps then!!!!! I will go Tony Book at Right back then and swap Parkin to the left.

Keelan

Book Bruce Mortimer Parkin
Hibbit Paddon Mackenzie Woods
Greenhoff Shaw

Sub Waggy!

How good were some of those 70s guys? Should Parkin, Bailey, Hibbitt, Wagstaffe and Richards have played for England? Were they hard done by? Were there just better players at the time? My dad said the only cap Richards got they stuck him on the right wing...

They were all capable of being England regulars, there was a lot of competition up front. Richards I thought was played on the left wing I thought but it could have been right, came on as second half sub against NI in the home Internationals? I think that was the season he was top scorer in the league....he really should have more caps....there was a lot of accusations at the time that there was a bias towards big clubs/London clubs, not so sure myself
