Pay pensions and protecting jobs, they want the ability to just get rid of staff but yes, I agree, the Union need to be countering the bullshit that is being peddled!
There are 40,000 RMT members and only about 1000 are main line drivers. This is about the other 39,000!

This mornings Independent - "Foreign Affairs Minister Simon Coveney has accused British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss of making “no effort” to resolve the Northern Ireland Protocol row and suggested she may be more focused on trying to succeed Boris Johnson as prime minister.

My concern is what will happen to the House of Lords. It is a far from perfect institution: having unelected religious leaders in a branch of government is a bad look, which only Iran matches.
There needs to be a second house to keep check, I don't know what the answer is, but I fear these fuckers will go full on authoritarian and there may be no (easy) way back...

Always felt the House of Lords worked better when it was actual ancient lords who’d had titles passed down to them and who lived in big old ramshackle mansions, rather than “lords” who are ex MPs (gavin Nicholson anyone?) or got there by giving money to the government ( evgeny lebedev etc) or people from tv shows or who sold ligerie( Karen Brady, Michelle Mone ) and were neutral to some degree
