Just checked and Oberschütze Farage did indeed stand in 2001, in Bexhill and Battle.
Came 4th out of 4 with a mighty 3,474 votes and just about kept his deposit. An improvement on his 1997 effort of 3,332 votes in Salisbury and his 1994 attempt in Eastleigh where a whole 952 people said "yes Nigel, like you I am a racist wanker with a micropenis, so have to overcompensate in other ways to show my manliness".
Only had another four goes after that over the next 14 years to maintain his success rate of 0%. There's not much about his presence that has ever cheered me, but how visibly livid he was when he didn't win South Thanet (prime Brexit territory, as much as it can be outside the individual house of one J Corbyn Esq) in 2015 when he obviously thought he would was heartening.

They've given up on Wakefield as well they might, it was Labour going back to the 1930s, they elect a Tory because of Brexit/Corbyn and he turns out to be a paedo. I mean, that's not an easy PR win.

I remember the first election after I moved to North Shropshire. The local councillor called round to see if he could count on our vote. When I asked why, given the majority they enjoyed, he responded like a character in a Carry On film and said “we hear there’re some buggers about and want to nip it in the bud early”.

An attempt to secure Carrie Johnson a role with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s charity was rejected amid concerns it would be inappropriate for the Prime Minister’s fiancée to work with the royals, The Telegraph can reveal.
Simon Case, the Cabinet Secretary, approached the Royal Foundation that manages Prince William’s charity work after the birth of the couple’s first child, Wilfred, in April 2020.
The Telegraph understands that Boris Johnson asked his officials to look for a charitable job for his then-fiancée after his original suggestion of giving her a plum Government special adviser role was rejected by officials.
One aide suggested that Mrs Johnson instead worked in communications for the Duke and Duchess’s Earthshot Prize, which gives an annual award of £1 million for environmental work.
But after Simon Case approached the Foundation, he was given a “quiet rebuke” and the idea was “kicked into the long grass” after staff said it would be inappropriate for Mrs Johnson to work there because she was engaged to the Prime Minister.
Officials are understood to have said that Mrs Johnson’s relationship would risk undermining the political neutrality of the royals’ work, while the role may also have required her to speak to journalists."
