As the title suggests, in a 4231 formation

Foster
Aarons Mings Ake Lewis
Capoue Dacoure
Sarr Brooks Freakish
C. Wilson

If everyone's fit:

-----------------------Fabianski---------------------

Aarons---------Ogbonna-------Aké-----------Masina

-------------Rice--------------Doucouré-------------

-------Sarr-------------Lanzini------------Deulofeu--

----------------------Haller-------------------------

Haller is way better than West Ham allow him to be, he was unreal for Frankfurt.

Villa are THAT good then? :D

:icon_lol:

Grealish is a fanny and he still clatters his way around the park doing nothing of consequence most of the time, some of the free kicks he got yesterday were a joke. Mings is fucking crap, a slightly better Stearman.

McGinn is probably their best player, Guilbert looks ok too.

How fun!

Fabianski
Guilbert - Kabasele - Ake - Masina
Capoue - Doucoure
Sarr - King - F. Anderson
Pukki

Nothing against Haller, I've just never seen him do the things that Dan says he can.

Went on Villa Talk last night and the consensus is that Grealish has already gone and McGinn has a fat twin.

Aye, Grealish wants out regardless.

Sympathy with McGinn as he's been out for ages. He's a good player though, you just have to use him right.

Haller:

I suspect he would be excellent for us. West Ham just lamp the ball at him. Look at the way they used Antonio on Saturday.

At the risk of derailing my own thread and say the Juventus offer was genuine would Haller be an adequate replacement for Jiminez?

I would say yes. Ideally though you would want West Ham to go down so we get him for what they paid in the first place.

Fabianski GK.

Defence is hard, seriously none of them are great, Kiko Fernenia always has looked decent and he’s rapid. Masina probably best on left, all the others are rubbish.

Going to have to pick Craig Dawson to go along side Ake.

Capoue and Doucouré, both good players.

Sarr looks dangerous now he’s settled and Delofeu always has a good game against us.

Grealish #10. Deeney up top as we’re going lone striker

I'd pick Rice at centre half, he had a good game on Saturday and handled Adama better than anyone else. Grealish is a prick, but he'll be at Utd next season so he has to make a best of the bottom 5 selection.

It beats me why anyone thinks rice is a midfielder, he's so much better as a CB

I thought he was ok on Saturday. Bit of a Stearman-style hairstroker now he's grown it out but that's better than his previous Dumb and Dumber look.

Fabianski
Aarons Diop Ake Lewis
Doucoure Rice
Sarr Buendia Grealish
Haller

Diop is too soft for me Lou.

And Buendia is a lovely footballer but when it comes to serious end product...

Glad to see no-one has picked Cantwell. Living off one good televised game that boy.

Really not sure what people see in Aarons tbh.

He has an almost impossible task playing in that role. He's asked to support the attack whisky being offered absolutely no protection going the other way. He'll do well somewhere the manager doesn't commit tactical suicide every week.

Yeah, to be honest there weren't many good options. Ogbonna has had the better season I suppose.

Buendia has created the 4th most chances in the league. I think someone clever will buy him - probably Liverpool. He'd be ideal for us playing against a team sitting off but I don't see us buying him solely for that situation. He was very good in our game against them at Carrow Road.

And agree, Cantwell is like Grealish but with less talent from what I have seen so far.

Lewis is pretty crap, it’s the reason he’s second choice to max Byram (pre injury). Buendia is a stroppy little sod, definately not our type of player.

Fabianski
Aaron’s
Diop
Ake
Smith
Rice
Capoue
Doucoure
Sarr
Grealish
C.Wilson

Left back is properly slim pickings isn’t it!
